Although I've been playing Elite for a number of years, I'm more of a casual player and don't consider myself much of a combat pilot. I'll play around with PvE and do fine, but I'm sure I'd get rocked playing PvP. I do a little engineering, but probably don't put the best builds together.
That being said, currently working on the CG outside of Onyx Bastion (solo / private group play). This is now the fourth time in about 30 minutes of play time that I've received the "hull breach attack" warning and had my ship from 100% shield to rebuy screen in about 5 seconds. I've never had that happen so quickly and I'm not sure how to prevent it. Running with a Corvette, military grade composites w/ thermal resistance and deep plating, armoured power plant, 7A shield generator with reinforced shields, a bunch of hull / module reinforcements, a bunch of shield boosters, and a 7A shield cell bank that I don't even have an opportunity to use because of how quickly I blow up...
Maybe I'm just in a situation where I'm out of my league with the build I have, but it's so frustrating to feel like I don't even stand a chance. Any suggestions or explanations would be appreciated!
