True. And if that player is open to having a discussion and potentially having his mind changed, then I don’t have a problem with it.Expressing one's opinion of a proposal, whether in support or opposition is quite reasonable.
One player's "improvement" may not be seen in quite the same light by other players - it's quite subjective.
Being open to having one's mind changed is not a requirement.True. And if that player is open to having a discussion and potentially having his mind changed, then I don’t have a problem with it.
it's obvious the majority of players don't want it touched and only a few complain about the 10% of the time they have to travel boringly.I'm pretty sure he was referring to the fact that SuperCruise has not been modified/enhanced based on user feedback since the initial release of the game in Dec 2014, which is factually correct as far as I know.
If avoiding gravity walls is fun then good for you, but I have said about setting minimum jump distance (read the post dude). So, the in-system jump can still allow supercruising among those stations, while saving time for the rest of the 10 % stations that aren't even orbiting the same star.Well, we have 65000 stations. 90% of the station cater to your play style which is short and sweet So using a little common sense can help with that 10% that you are complaining about. You can use your skill you can shorten the distance by avoiding gravity walls.
I wonder where did you get the statistics to conclude only a few have complainedit's obvious the majority of players don't want it touched and only a few complain about the 10% of the time they have to travel boringly.
How do you come to that conclusion, especially given that this is one of the most repeated topics on the suggestions forum?it's obvious the majority of players don't want it touched and only a few complain about the 10% of the time they have to travel boringly.
Not for me OP.
I like things in SC just great!
Cheers!
So we get to the heart of your issue. You want to jump to every system and have a short cut and wanting to Ignore the fact space is big. There a reason why I pointed out 65,000 stations 90% of them cater to YOUR needs. 10% caters to ours some of us like to travel a long distance.of course SC is great, but most of the time when I travel a long distance to let say 100,000 ls, I just turn on supercruise assist and afk to watch Netflix
Umm...the OP didn’t say “I want...”.Being open to having one's mind changed is not a requirement.
... especially in the face of "I want"....
This would also be acceptable.I would rather be able to select which star to jump to
When jumping into a system
Traveling over such a long distance rarely encounters gravity wallSo we get to the heart of your issue. Here some skill you need to learn. Learn to avoid gravity walls so you can speed up faster and get to your destination faster. Before you accept a mission start doing your RESEARCH first. Use the Galaxy Map in Mission board and buy System Data before accepting a mission. Things that can enhance your gameplay instead of ruining the game play for players that like the current setup.

@lun0619: It sounds to me like you want an I-WIN button by reducing the opportunities for interdictions from Pirates/Police/Bounty Hunters whether PC or NPC.
I get it that in some systems the Super Cruise travel time may seem excessive and may even feel boring BUT the super cruise travel mechanic is fair and reasonable.
The concept of an in-system jump has been proposed before BUT the proposals have been limited to jumping to major stellar objects Stars/Black Holes in effect. Thus far, FD have declined to implement it and personally I think it is right not to. However, if in-system jumps (Stars/Black Holes only) were ever implemented then it should be limited to major stellar objects and possibly should incur some damage to the FSD drive (1% integrity loss at least perhaps as much as 5% or 10%).

How will Pirates or Bounty Hunters or PvPers get you? Not everyone going to have the same mechanics. See Frontier found keeping all the ships the same in supercruise. Right now those types of players have a chance to get an NPC or players and we don't want an I win feature.
Why can’t we have both?So we get to the heart of your issue. You want to jump to every system and have a short cut and wanting to Ignore the fact space is big.
