I asked this before but i have to again: Can we please disable Gunner in Multicrew completely?

When i find a reason to leave my carrier, like the combatpayout buffs, i usually use multicrew. (Yes im one of those 5 people using it) :)

BUT, every time im using my Cutter, wich has packhounds installed, people jump into the gunnerseat and spam missiles like they have infinite Ammo wich results in me kicking them.
I got different fighters with fancy Colors and Stuff but for some reason people rather like to spam missiles like its a multicannon and overheat the ship.

Can we please get a Button or function to disable the Gunnerseat completely so participants can only use Fighters? That would be great, thanks.
 
Same issue here. I also went in contact with Frontier about this, but for couriosity they do not want to offer the option to forbid the gunner role. :(

I think the correct and supported way to disable the Gunner role is to only equip fixed and gimballed weapons.

But I wonder, have you considered, before the fighting starts, just telling your multicrew guest the rules? E.g. "Hey, welcome to the good ship so-and-so, FYI your job is to fly the SLF, if I catch you spamming the packhound batteries I will kick you off."
 
You are right. I often would like to remote control my main ship flown by my npc but that's not possible when I fly in wing with friends.
 
Yeah... there is a limited mode, which only allows the use of turrets (and... er... strangely, the Xeno scanner??? think that's a bug!)

But that's honestly not enough, you need to be able to turn it off completely - so that people will just use the fighters, the number of times I've had to say "Hey commander, can you jump out of that gunner role? it's messing with my fire groups - cheers" is... uncountable.
 
Yup disable option or just remove the gunner completely from game is fine with me.
Fighters are great fun :)

Get rid of the extra pips too. pointless and mainly used by people with alts for a paid (pre epic) advantage.
 
Yup, in vr with how garbage chat can be with a headset I'm always using my indexs mic, yet the amount of people that either a, got voice comms off, or b just ignore me and spam my missiles at shielded targets annoys the hell out of me, I mean, yeah I kick them OBVIOUSLY due to insubordination but they have already wasted several missiles meaning I'm going to have to synth more sooner than needed. I'd kill for a way to completely disable the gunner seat, I have 2 damn fighters in my krait, get in them!
 
This is a big reason why I don't invite CMDRs who aren't on my friends list to crew my non-exploration ships.

How hard would it be to set up an extra tab next to the modules tab that specifies which modules second and third players can use? Instead of going back and forth with these design tweaks, just give the owner full control and leave it at that. Open up multicrew to more freeform gameplay.

The tagline of this game is 'Play how you want', isn't it? The fact that multicrew pivots so hard away from that design philosophy makes it feel like a detached experience.

I've never let anyone else on my ships. I never will.

If my ship gets trashed it better be my fault or I'll hunt the culprit down from one end of the galaxy to the other to exact revenge.

No-one wants that.
 
Multicrew... hmmm those were 6 minutes I will never get back...
