I can’t take it anymore!

There would need to be a massive economy and credit re balance if travel times were slashed. You would lose a lot of the exploration gameplay mechanics too. Things like mining often take time to travel to and then from to a selling station for maximum profit. If you decrease that time it would buff mining even more which is already the best source of money from mid tier.

Combat would need a rework as a lot of the mission board mechanics currently rely on targets and things happening in supercruise. Actually combat would just consist of res sites and combat zones if people weren't travelling in supercruise and that kills random PvP.

I personally don't think travel times an issue once you've got out of the starter ships. An ASP is quite quick to obtain even for new players and with out engineers can easily travel over 30ly per jump. I don't agree Elite is a massive time sink compared to any other game. I've played classic WoW recently and that took far more time to get to 60 and late than I consider Elite too.

Supercruise not the most interesting of things sometimes is the spine of Elite in a lot of ways!

Supercruise assist is for people who don't want to land their ships because they are too lazy to learn or just plain lazy.
Odd, Supercruise Assist didn't offer me the chance to land, is mine faulty?
Oooohhhh... you mixed it up with a Docking Computer, didn't you.... Such an easy error, both give you time to do something else... I assume you do have and play the game?

Super cruise is pretty much fine. Only tweak I’d like to see is quicker deceleration for USS, you can accelerate away from them really quickly but the approach can be a bit of a drag

I took my first trip to Hutton Orbital (one more off the tick list!) yesterday - travel time with SA on was a bit silly (but I was making then eating dinner at the time) as after an hour there was still a way to go. SA off for the remainder :)

I'm quite happy to have done the trip, had it been shortened for convenience it certainly would not have been on my to-do list... not saying I'm likely to do the trip again though 😱
It's also still on my bucket list alright. Just wished you could get an actual mug bobblehead as a payoff of sorts.

Well velocity would be capped near C. And anybody can test with Frontier, or with Frontier First encounters how "fun" that would be. No time acceleration. (Though as far as I remember FFE capped around 0.1 c

From the perspective of the accelerating object/person, there is no speed limit, time just slows down from the perspective of outside observers. Since a multiplayer game already has to throw out relativity (time needs to be universal), they could just allow infinite acceleration.

And fighting becomes series of extremely fast jousts.

Only if that's what people want to do. Matching acceleration with another ship would not be terribly hard.
