Newcomer / Intro I got the ship that can kill anything, now what?

Many suggestions have been made, the thread is full of suggestions. Calling people animals won't help, in fact it may get you moderated.
all i did was try to sound more engaging with my simple question, people probably took it as a personal insult because nothing else could explain the condescending and unwelcoming tone of most commenters. stuff like @uhhuhr inb4 you crash your ship with no rebuy@, kinda uncalled for in the newcomer forum section, isnt it?

"endless pirate cobras" - yeah, well, you should take on higher level missions. Then you may get occasional pirate Corvettes.

An Elite level delivery mission with incoming enemies will get you ~4 Dangerous and above Anacondas.

High CZ, against Feds, then attack the Alpha of the task force wing.

Above CZ? Thargoids and PvP. Deciat may be one place - or you might check on Inara for the security status: https://inara.cz/reports-security/ . Or get in contact with any of the PvP groups. You might even try your luck against Sir Ganksalot (that specific challenge is gone, but he's around) or Colonia Jesus (usually to be found in Colonia).

As far as condescending goes: you're not the first. By a long way. But usually, people who post such claims are somewhat more imaginative :p. Some of them even make it into Forum or game history.

In places like RESs or any sort of Nav beacon the NPCs are likely to be based around your rank if you don’t have a mission so if the opponents aren’t tough enough to excite you you will have to rank up higher.

I had a look at your build on coriolis and as it stands it is a sitting duck as deploying the hard points will overload the power supply and everything will shut down, spending a little time adjusting the priorities helped but to keep shutdowns from happening I had to switch off wake and kill scanners as well as the shield cell banks. It needs more energy from engineering or less power hungry fittings.

Thanks for the in depth answer!!!!! I will try it out!! my favorite thing is big ship vs big ship, it has that heavy feeling that asks for some crazy Wagner music, ive been attacked by anacondas when doing boom time deliveries, surprisingly

!!!!!!!!!!My dude you might be spot on, i need to up my rank!!!

outfitting wise, I might've clicked something wrong on coriolis because it has enough power, i turned off the fuel scoop, extra shield banks, repair lumpet and afmus. its like 99% but everything for combat is working. any advice how to improve it? what engineering to get for a gimballed lay out like this? are there beam lasers that can be pressed contionously?

Hello everyone, I got the game from epic and aaaaallly got into it, at first i did some trading and taxi because i loved the futurama vibe, long story short i was saved up for a ship i like and now i have it, but the problem is all combat missions are kinda... meh? I feel like a bully killing endless pirate cobras. What are the coolest things to do with my awesome battleship? o7

Go help a faction in a war - that is, go fight in a Combat Zone - make sure you pick a faction after you drop in, Before you start shooting
PIck some Wing Pirate Assasination missions. You'll get the chance to fight a Pirate Lord escorted by 2-3 cronies
Get some cargo in that ship an drop in a Compromised Nav beacon.

hold up, im trade elite and like a 30 million boom time delivery mission only pops 1 anaconda, but an angry one, where do you get 4 from lol

Being combat Elite stacking cargo missions I always get Dangerous or better Anacondas, Type-10s, Fer de Lances and others sometimes more than one attacking me in the same instance. That is just NPCs. Go Open mode with live players and if you have only taken on NPCs you will last maybe 15 seconds.

As Bruce Willis once said in the movie Diehard, "Welcome to the party Pal".

... dude, i have never played any mode other than open, why people act like playing this game is some elite skill or forlorn knowledge?

LOL. I play mostly Open myself but know where the greifers hang out. Hauling 720 tons of whatever in a Cutter without squadron support can be unwise. Even with 14k of shields I still have to outrun the torpedoes.

One after the other :).
I usually get the incoming message about enemies, with the description like (1/4). Once that one is served, the next popup comes with "stay alert", announcing the next victim. Usually, I have to give them some time to catch up, so either slow down or run a few circles.
From time to time, I also get a freelancer from the system, with the mission pirate dropping in then.

So, to be clear, you picked up the game for free from Epic ~ 3 weeks ago, you have an Anaconda albeit largely unengineered, and combat is already too easy?

Hmm.

Anyway... as other posters have alluded to, you've probably not done all combat scenarios yet. There was a video posted on another thread where it took an experienced commander over an to take down some very challenging Thargoid ships - the big ones that send swarms after you - you might want to try them, just for lols.

I don't know where you'd find them, mind: I'm sure someone can enlighten you.

I was thinking of lots of advice, but the best is - now you've grinded for CR for the 'conda - try playing the game instead. Especially look for more combat. You will soon find you get better enemies as you rank up in combat.

And re: CZ - did you pick a side (so half the ships go green, half red)? If not - you were doing them wrong :)

For various reasons I don't use shield cell banks but they are only useful in combat in that period when your shield is heavily depleted but not failed so to my mind there is no point having them on the ship if they have to be switched off in a fight. I fit hull and module reinforcement instead.
Yes beam lasers will fire as long as you press the trigger, well until you have drained the Power Distributer, they have longer range than the bursts you have fitted which are short range only.

wait, i have 3 6A shield banks, 2 of them are always off until the active one depletes, then i swap them, preferably out of combat. i also have 4 shield boosters and 7A shield gen, module reinforcement and the fancy military armor it pretty much got destroyed only when i got greedy trying to finish off someone with no ammo for half of my guns T.T

dont judge my love for repetitive activities lol

I like your style bluflame.
Get a bunch of black box missions - you may get a level 4 one in there where a bunch of ships attack you while you try and scoop up the black box (es)
Great fun.
Friend me ' Cmdr BSlappa ' and we could meet up for a bit of biffo if you want.

DID NOT EXPECT YALL TO ANSWER SO FAST!

So this is my baby

I'm also eager to hear advice on what to improve and optimize
I know i can get rekt in PvP, but in terms of PvE its just a matter of having ammo and a shield bank, right? I have a lot of questions lol

Which are the main kinds of combat activites aside from hutning down targets? Which are the most fun?
How to start PvPing?
How to bounty hunt players?
Anyone wanna do PvE or PvP with me?
What engineering to get for multicannons?

i love this game
Based on your thread title, you bought the wrong ship. This is the one that you described. 😉
