I have messed it up :D

Sooo I went to quantum world to do the planetary circumnavigation. Landed at X 0.0 Y 0.0 (roughly) and started heading at 90 degrees.
Did my first ~180 km driving/flying without anything special happening, but then i found a good slope to jump off.
I kept bouncing higher and higher, going faster and faster, like I've seen in videos before. I attempted this thing multiple times already but finally got the hang of it, until... I overdid it.

Things still looking fine, I reached the peak at 9.5km and started to fall down again. Then I kept boosting forward and noticed suddenly I went up again. I didn't know where the physics limit was... where things broke.
Went past 10km and lost all control.

I tried logging into a different mode but it was no good.
logged off the game now and when I come back on Tuesday evening, cmdr. Huskeer will try to push me down to the surface again. This happened on stream btw, you can watch the VoD here:

That's totally epic! It will be interesting to see if pushing you works to get back down, but I'm guessing support will help you on this one

Yes it works. We had geysir high jump comp back in DECE and we had to rescue few cmdrs from orbit. :D

Pity you can't just recall your ship :)

The option doesn't even show up xD

I'll try to get help before doing something like launching without horizon. Would be cool to get this thing on the ground again.
Have to wait until tuesday tho as I don't have time today anymore. Arund 17:00 IGT for those who wanna watch it.

Yes there are landables!
I thought about a similar thing but from Salomés reach, the furthest stellar body from Sol. If the timing is right, you could make a record for the furthest srv from Sol.
