I just flew through a star!

No exaggeration, no doubt at all - straight through one.

Jumped into a system with a neutron star as its main body and when I came out of witch space I was heading straight at, then through and back out a Red dwarf star. The fuel scoop engaged / disengaged message came on AFTER I came to a complete halt as it had no time to react as I violated a dwarf!

I sat there gob-smacked for ages. I really thought my ship was going to explode or something and all the work I'd put in would be lost, my heart is STILL pounding.

Ended up the usual .22ls from the neutron star and 3.12ls from the Red dwarf.

I really wish I'd left shadowplay on auto-loop so I had some proof and one hell of a video.

and No. I am NOT going back to do it again.

Has happened to me twice so far out of the handful of binary systems I've visited. Any more and I'll have the beginning of a brick wall...

As I read this forum, it appears that warping into the star is pretty common thing. Espeсially when jumping into tight binary systems with neutron stars. Fortunately, I've not expirienced that by myself.

Had that several times and they have neutron stars as the main star. Fortunately no damage incurred but they are the few occasions that keep you on the edge of your seat

I have had this happen a couple of time on the way to the core. It's a bit scary, especially the fuel scoop kicking in and back out.
No damage noticed on either occasion though which was a good thing.
I have also popped out of witch space between stars which can be tricky as you are cooked from both sides. That was a case of full speed and blast through to the other side haha.

Yeah right, no damage to the ship but what about the poor pilot?

I've had it happen once so far and I'd rather it did not happen again, at least not until I fit an auto-defibrillator to my seat.

This is the closest I've come, but at least I got it on video :D
