The empire grind cost me like 200m in donations and the Federal grind cost me 330m it did help speed up the grind.
I think I spent the same on my imp run... I did figure out the reputation, but did small payments, there were quite a few that were less than 1 million back when I did it.
Wait what? what? Quite the contrary. This was a reply to someone who said the Type 7 was made redundant by the Type 8 and should be addressed. And I pointed out that the Type 7 had already been abandoned in the Beta so no point hoping for a bandaid. (The Type 7 is 50cm too tall for a medium pad hangar)
You brought up the T-7. The original point only relates to the fact that the best medium pad ship for trading is a trade ship, not a multi purpose one. Something FDev should have fixed a long time ago. Now they have and it seems you're not happy about it.
Regarding the new ships however, I use an FdL more than my Python mk2. For exploring I still prefer my Krait Phantom thanks to the view out the front and if I'm trading I use a Cutter.
So no, from my point of view I haven't found the new ships to be significantly better either. Certainly not at the time the original post in this discussion was posted.
