General / Off-Topic I made another MAME cab if anyone is interested

Thanks Geraldine. I think that I may have to bring the starting bid down a tad. I think its a little too high.

Yep, great stuff.
It's making me feel nostalgic for the heady days of the arcades in the 80's....good times!

Think I will start a thread about old arcade games...

Hi folks.

I have just finished making my latest effort which is now on ebay. If anyone is interested in old-school arcade games then please take a look.

Thats cool...

I wanted to make a mame cab a few years ago, I saw a few at Eurogamer last year and I gotta say yours is a bargain!

Would you consider making just the cab and monitor? If so how much? Or even accept custom design? From the photos it doesn't look like you could sit down on a bar stool, so I would like a straighter angled monitor with the PC in the lower half? keeping the unit flatter?

Hi breakpoint. Yes, I will hopefully be selling them in the future without a PC inside so that the buyer can put their own in. There is a Pentium 4 inside this one and is pretty average-ish by today's top specs but it does the job and works very well.

I designed the cab with a bar stool in mind. The angle of the monitor is about right for standing up or sitting on a stool. I had to take into account the vertical viewing angle of the monitor for this measurement.

Yes, I can do custom machines I suppose. Send me your specs and I'll see what I can do.

can i suggest going down the classic coffee table route, as im sure you would have more buyers for those.

Nice one Oddball, i have grand designs to build one myself some day when i can finally move to a house with some workspace :)

Ditto on Mobius' suggestion, something practical as well as fun/retro would draw in a lot of interest. Good luck with the auction :D
