I think I should start my own Squadron.

I did join Sidewinder Syndicate but truth is I don't really talk to them. Or anyone. LOL

I'm now thinking that perhaps I form a Squadron aimed at novitiates. A group not intended for long-term tenure, but rather a place for novitiates to group up and help each other get started.

Considering all I fly is a Cobra Mk III, I won't be in a ship that's massively superior in terms of various factors.

It's just a big Sidewinder after all.

Nothing against Sidewinder Syndicate. You lads are awesome. But I guess in the words of Alissa White Gluz, I go my own way.

I have a name in mind. If I can login tomorrow, the Squadron will be established.

You and whos army?

There’s enough “Party of One” Squadrons out there.
Wouldnt you be better joining a larger one, and proving yourself and getting some rank?

Like - if you want to be a good leader, maybe you need some time discovering what it’s like to climb within an organization?

It's a phenomenal amount of work to do it right

So, so true...

I was Military leader of an alliance in EVE-Online (Admiral or whatever they wanted to call me to stroke my ego) and spent about 3-16 hours a day (depending on whether we were expanding our borders, defending, or in a lull between the two) dealing with stuff that made me zero money and often cost me money as well as time.
Diplomacy with other (often non-English speaking) groups
Squabbling between our alliance members for no bloody reason
Planing for expansion or hardening existing defenses
Escort duty - the non-sexy type :(
Refueling & Restocking of military assets
Recon or defensive patrols
TRYING TO GET ALL THE LAZY SODS TO PULL THEIR WEIGHT AND NOT JUST BE IN OUR ALLIANCE FOR EASY ACCESS TO GOOD MONEY-MAKING REGIONS OF SPACE.

After about 18 months I was a burnt out wreck and ended up quitting EVE completely.

Cobra Owners Club Squadron....may have to be men only....acronym joke for those that do not get it.....

On a serious reply, you may be wise to wait until you have finished DWII before you consider firing this up. It may be a bit harder to run this as well as you woyld like from the depths.

Frontier needs to get a handle of this it's made the UI so cluttered.

I started my own more out of wanting to see how it all work and its there for when I want to wear the RP hat, thus far it's just me and it's going to stay that way, I did however name it the same as the squad I used to run back in Jumpgate and that did have people in it.

As other have said running a squad/guild/corp/clan or even having a position of authority in such is not an easy undertaking unless it's something you do and find doing it enjoying then yeah do it, but over the years and more than one heated debate over TS I now can't be bothered with any of it and prefer playing alone, but that's just me
:D

Consistency is a good quality for a leader......just saying.

So now we're discrediting me because of medical conditions?

Now I'm going to do it just to prove you wrong.

Also I'm having second thoughts on DW2. I like trading way too much. Starting to feel I might miss it. I have a few days to decide.

It takes stamina to administer a player group. And persistence. Many groups fail with that. For various reasons.

And if I don't try I'll never know, hmm?

Anyway I'm not doing this for competition. I'm doing this as a chance to meet new players around the starter systems. If I can help one person find his feet, I'll be happy.

But arnt u mentlay unstable so u send crazy orders?

Yes I am.

What makes me different is that I'm open about it from the get-go. Just read my sig'.

But who says anything about orders?

I'll give you a hint about my plans. The Squadron will feature along the lines of "trade academy".

This isn't about BGS glory for me, it's about imparting knowledge. And I know very well how to safely manage trade ships. It's what I do.

"Imparting knowledge"[up]

I started my own squadron... another one of those "squadrons of one". Just me and my boats and I'm working on my Discord channel. So far it's just in Inara but I'll eventually make it official and set it up it in game. Wouldn't mind it being just big enough to make it a private playing group but that's wayyyy in the future. I think the hardest part is coming up with a comfortable name for it.
