I must say, the most unsavoury part of this thread is where people started using 3rd party websites to see if other posters played the game or not to determine if they are trolls.
That in a week when one notorious forum user, who openly admits not playing the game for over 2 years posted that ‘they’d rather play board games than Elite’. If that isn’t trolling I don’t know what is, but no one said a word.

The OP suggested they be 'looked up' - it was I who suggested they might update their credentials as 'in game in the last hour' doesn't indicate if the previous session had been months ago. It was all done in a non-confrontational way.
I thought the accusation came first, then the poster said ‘Look me up I dare you’. Then they were looked up.
Someone hasn't been paying attention to this thread it seems.
I believe it was that way, my point to the OP was that Inara showed activity only in December - even if in-game was within the last hour (which, should I issue a challenge as such to someone would spend the 90 seconds or so to 'get online' to 'prove' I was active) The OP mentioned that they would update their Inara page to bring it up-to-date following my suggestion.
I did it to challenge paranoid conspiracy. Tbh I never anticipated I'd rely on inara outside of finding whats near me
It is actually a useful site overall - particularly as most of the 'sensitive' information can be 'eyes only' for oneself. Most of my own use is as a 'memory jogger' I'll admit - although the services provided by the site are excellent too.
Agreed, however, my point stands, why does it matter if they were in the game last week or last year when we have another poster openly admitting not playing in 2 years and on here slating the game with every post.
The curious thing about this, is the other day we had the slavery thread, that OP was accused of having multiple forum accounts.
The unsavoury part is that on these 2 issues which people can describe as woke if they wish, is it very quickly became about the poster, not the game. Whereas the game gets slated by someone who states as fact they don’t play and they get left alone.
If we're talking about the same guy: I think most people just have him on ignore by now. Replying to every single one of his posts talking trash about this game would almost be a full-time job.
For me personally my biggest grievence with this thread is how many people were upset at me wanting to add "they/them" at the end of my cmdr name and went through so many lengths to try justify being upset. Its no longer any surprise to why some nonbinary people are fearful about being open about their identity. Its genuinely wild to me that the eventual length was "they're apart of a conspiracy to ruin gamers!" And list something I don't even know.
Don't worry, I think the vast majority are people like me. We don't understand it, we don't really get it. But we'll stand up for your right to do it and have inclusivity

What a messed up world we live in, I'm glad I was diagnosed as a Jaffa Not I might add the clinical term for Seedless.
I would hate to bring kids into This world at the moment even if I could.
As they would have to put up with lots on non-sensical absolutes.
Why don't you call yourself Cmdr Non-Binary1 and your friend could be 2 and so on and so on. Or you could use A and B.
I'm not entirely sure that people would be offended by they/them but some seem to get upset by alot less.

I'd rather say vast majority of people just don't care. You might underestimate or overestimate people.

Some folks just don't want to identify as male or female. For whatever reason shrugs let them. It's a real thing, it's identified. Sexual identity is far more fluid than we were brought up to believe and... that's okay. It's widespread enough that media (including games) should acknowledge it.
It's a non-issue that should stay a non-issue but has become an issue only because people object to it because we don't understand it. I honestly don't understand it, but there's a lot of things I don't understand, doesn't mean they're wrong.
