I will Kill you if....

You really are new aren't you? Some of these Greenies are sooooo funny. LMAO... you have to scan just to see who someone is or if they even have a bounty. Dude you are going to be killed so many times if someone finds out your name. Actually go ahead and list the first and last letters of your cmdr name in your next post and well' see ya out there. Not me though I'm scared really scared this post was really a bone shaker. Hell I might not even sign in now. LOL wow I tried to keep a straight face while typing that but couldn't. Have fun in that imagination of yours.
I think you have just shown your noob-ness with that statement. A normal scan is harmless and you don't know it has happened. A Kill Warrant Scan sets off an alarm in your cockpit, you know when you have been K scanned.
You don't know this despite all your vast experience? And I a noob has to tell you? I have only been at it since 84, so maybe you are right.

If you are aggressive and antisocial, you are going to get cleaned up.
By you? oh noes.

I think at one point tonight there were 6 players all at the same nav point and all 6 were alone!

You guys are right. It's crazy if playing in Open Play if you cannot meet up. Yes it's down to the decision to create multiple instances, but there has got to be a better way by FD of ensuring players can work together or fight each other in Open Play.

Some online games using multiple instances have as part of the login formula, the option for players to select which instance they can enter and next to each instance listed, is the number of users in that instance. The heavier the load, the less likely to enter that instance. Now if players could indeed select which instance they will appear in, then more pvp could be arranged.

All of the above are rude, there are a few people today that have paid out insurance due to this. Manners would have saved you thousands.

Out.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Umadbro?

This is the funniest thread.

I've played comp online games since Quakeworld at quite a high level, and there's one thing I've learnt over the years;

There will be a time, where somebody else comes along who's bigger, better, stronger and quicker than you.

Never get complacent, and never post messages on forums saying you're going to delete the entire universe if something comes anywhere near you... tread carefully OP...

On the (incredibly rare) occasions I end up in a nav beacon or extraction site and there are other human players looking for bounties I tend to go elsewhere (there is a lot to choose from !!!)

Only if you happen to have a bounty.

I occasionally shoot CMDRs who scan me, and I rarely have a bounty or cargo. I liken it to someone going through my luggage or trying to get fingerprints off me.

A bit paranoid eh? If I see a CMDR I generally lock them, so scans are automatic.

KWS/Cargo, not normal targeting scans, which are less intrusive and don't have a tell other than someone pointed in your general direction.

If you opened fire on my Clipper just for a scan I would unleash 100,000c worth of Torp's.

Chances are that not one of them would make it to my shields, but yeah, if I see torpedoes I expect them to be used in the case of hostilities.

Ref the instancing - it is odd we didn't get matched - Altair isn't exactly one of the busiest systems.

I was over at the start system the other day - saw 10+ commanders in SC at outposts, outside stations- everywhere I went in the immediate vicinity - all complete strangers too...

If you are in very different geographical areas, it seems to be less common to be matched up...ping/connectivity issues, I'd assume.

In that case I will happily collect your bounty. You are very polite to react in downright illegal ways to people who are just doing their job and making their job so much easier.

Dude, I would sink 8 torps into your hull the minute you fired at me.. Whats wrong with scanning someone??

You usually scan someone because you are looking for either targets to pirate or targets to collect a bounty. With his behavior he should have already a large amount of bounty collected on regular base, so he rather shoots first before someone collects on him. ;-)

Right, that is the first step in them killing you! They are announcing their intentions at that moment.
Only if you happen to have a bounty.
There is no way of knowing that. It is possible that they are just bounty hunters but they may simply want to ensure they collect any bounties after popping your ship anyway. If they are in a reasonable ship, all they are definitely announcing is their interest in potentially killing the scanned ship. It's then up to the scanned pilot how they choose to react. Shooting their ship first isn't an obviously bad idea, and the scanner gave the impression of looking for PvP anyway so they could/should be pleased.

Could be - wonder what happens with the friends list - presumably that tries to override other considerations..
