I wonder if these references were actually planned features

Sometimes when you are exiting a space port, the flight traffic controller that you hear on the radio will talk about following the exit queue (can't remember the exact wording now). Of course there is no exit queue functionality to follow in the game, but I wonder if when this line was recorded it was actually a planned feature that never got actually implemented.

(Yes, if you use the autodocking computer, that will follow an exit queue, but that instruction from the radio is not for the docking computer but for the pilot. Thus I'm wondering if there were originally plans for being able to manually follow the same queue.)

Likewise sometimes when you land on a landing pad the flight controller will instruct you to "perform the landing checklist". I know there is a pre-flight checklist that you can turn on from the ship's right panel, and this makes me wonder if the "landing checklist" was also initially supposed to be a thing which got never implemented, or whether it's merely a random piece of flavor in the flight traffic controller voice samples.

I think the former is more of "hey you, yeah you, the impatient commander, please exit the station in an orderly fashion..."

In the case of the checklist, IIRC, the pre-flight checklist serves to make sure your hardware (hotas/mouse/key -binds) are all working prior to taking off. Not sure what a landing checklist would look like. "Put away your tray and return your seat to an upright position"?

it's flavour text imo no more (and I love those little touches).
now the blast doors on the space station. there is an example of a vestigial organ.

Have you tried using the Mk1 Eyeball?

Look around, look at the scanner, see if anyone is moving, and if all clear, go ahead.

Treat it like you're driving in a car and at a junction.
Tell that to the ships colliding with me from behind or below...

Or when the docking computer gets stuck - in Solo play so not likely to be due to connectivity - with no ship coming into the port and the only other outgoing ship being behind you, not moving.

I’ve also had it get stuck on approach to a pad in the new refinery station interior. Less annoying than the departure side though.
