I'd like to see some critters...

I'm out in the Black scanning plants and getting a bit bored. It would be fun to have some type of danger doing this, and thought of Guardians of the Galaxy 1st shots of Peter Quill and the rat-like critters he messes with. Wouldn't it be fun to have some critters on some of these planets? Something to blast on otherwise barren planets. Imagine 10 or 20 different types of critters on the different types of atmospheres? It'd give a reason to carry a weapon and not just ignore everything but the plants.

I realize Frontier is coming out with Colonization, and I've been really happy with the recent additions of ships and Supercruise (which makes exploring so much faster and easier), the ease of getting materials now. Helmets off to Frontier for these additions.

What do pilots think about this?

As I have trouble imagining a critter that is energetic enough to be a threat that could exist on the near vacuum worlds we can land on I think this might have to wait until after we get planets with a more substantial atmosphere.
Besides the obvious one of course....

No Mans Sky does this pretty well. Rock/mineral based primitive lifeforms, or gaseous lifeforms are pretty common in scifi and they'd fit the game pretty well if you placed them on the outer-ranges of the galaxy. Life doesn't need to be organic the same way humans are. There's a lot of theoretical exobiology that suggests life could exist on lunar-esque surfaces by intaking solar radiation and using it as a source of energy.

Oh yeah, I can't wait to land and find an entire planet of these waiting for me..... - Nuke from orbit CMDRs you know the drill...
