Engineers Ideas for Engineering Exploration Components

The current state of the Engineers is a fun aspect of the game, but it seems to be much more in depth for combat players, with them having access to game changing weapon special affects that change the way they play the game. What I am hoping this thread could become is a place for the community to present ideas of special affects for modules that have an impact on explorers, smugglers, and traders. Some examples of Ideas that I have come up with is a special effect for the Advanced Discovery Scanner that would automatically commit a basic scan for planets in the system, with the down side of increasing the spin up time. This would mean that for explorers seeking profits, this mod would be great. But the downside is that if you a re only going for jump range, you discovery now weighs a ton or two. Providing ideas can only make the game better, so lets try and be productive with this thread and make the engineers more diverse for people outside of the combat profession:)
