If someone from Fdev streams themselves unlocking all the Guardian tech. I will eat my eye patch.

Come on FD, rise to the challenge. You clearly think that this content is good enough for your players - whose time you do not want to waste.

Therefore why not get a stream going. If not for us, then for the children.

Yes and please put someone who has already played the game.

I'd like to see the enjoyment on their happy faces as they have all the fun with everyone's favourite game mechanic of trying to find G5 mats in High Grade Emissions.

Sandro: I've invented the Guardian tech, the players will just have to collect a different guardian blue print for each module, it'll take then no more than 45 minutes a module. Each blue print will be a different puzzle - fun and enjoyable - I respect their time.
FDev Accountant: That's great Sandro... But that means the community will unlock everything in less than a day, get bored of the new modules within 3 days, and stop playing. Are you going to fire half your Engineering team?
Sandro: What? What do you mean?
FDev Accountant: Our income - that pays your wages - is derived from frustrating the player community into putting pointless hours, days, weeks & months of grinding hours into this game, so that to relieve the pain - they will spend money on us for paint jobs etc. You take away the grind, the players stop spending - you fire your team. Get it?
Sandro: Ah! I'll just multiple the required materials by a rather large number...

I'd like to think that wasn't the case.

If it is the case, it demonstrates a fundamental lack of understanding of gamers - and a lack of confidence in the product, itself.

After all, if "the game" is the things you do with new toys, after you've collected them, why would you be likely to stop playing once you've collected them?

Seems, to me, that anything to do with mat' collection and engineering should really just be a "pit-stop" while the game, itself, is the actual "race".

If FDev are trying to make the "pit-stops" more and more convoluted, it rather suggests they don't think the "race" is going to be terribly interesting.

I would love to see this happen but it wont for one simple reason.
They will never stream something that will show prospective customers how monotonous and grindy their game is. They dont want to scare them away. They already seem to be struggling with the games image as a grind-fest, they wont want to add to it.

Why is everybody talking about donating to a charity?

Shouldn't we donate to Frontier so that they can employ a decent game designer?

Naaah, I think the devs at Frontier are more then capable to create good gameplay.
Graphics and sound are already spot on, I don't think they're incapable to do the same regarding gameplay.
They just don't try their own fabrications and make the wrong choices.

So imho a charity fundraiser is a good way to tell them we're getting tired of this monotonous and sloppy game design.

Hence why the OP is safe from a very bad case of indigestion - he knew Frontier wouldn't take him up on his offer [haha]

They are yet to add any good gameplay so I’m not sure where your confidence in them comes from.

They have enough money to pay for a whole proper design team (and letting go of some that aren't up to scratch...?). We are merely showing that we mean it when saying we'd pay for someone at FDev to do the grind but we don't want them to get any more money for it. Instead, we'll donate the money to a good cause.

Ye, I can already see how it ends. "I donated to see the game changed my way, not for some random minority (insert random insult)."

If you want to support a charity then do it - just leave the fricken agenda out of it.

Then maybe you shoud learn to write properly then as I can see no other point you are trying to make.

The fault is not at my end. In other threads, people have to explain what they're saying to you when everyone else gets it. Stop trying to blame me please because you refuse to understand.

Perhaps if they didn't have effective monopolies with no choice available to most rural customers at all, and many municipalities locked into dubious contracts the telco may or may not properly fulfill, we would finally get a much needed infrastructure upgrade throughout the USA.

I'm sure that's just a pipe dream, but it's a nice dream.

Yeah it's sad the way it is at the moment. Hopefully though people are starting to wak up a little! :)
