If someone from Fdev streams themselves unlocking all the Guardian tech. I will eat my eye patch.

No idea, I didnt dodge NMS. But i enjoyed my time playing it, its my chill out game.

At the same time i wont defend that cluster****.

I'm aware of many in the same boat, Skeloton. I was just wondering why Stigbob introduced the false equivalency.

Two games from new, untested and inexperienced games developers, that no one knew what the games would be like when released (probably not even the developers) and pre-ordered anyway.

Versus, the laid out vision of classic platform games that many people are already aware of and can well imagine how they would translate to modern tech and systems.

Good that you enjoy NMS.

You might be as big a mug as I was when I bought the LEP.

Still nothing heh? So much for the great communication. This seems to be the worst case of them ignoring their community.
At this point, I’d even settle for the traditional “We’re aware of the issue and are investigating alternatives” line. It’s not hard to say that somewhere.

They don’t even have to post in one of the threads on the topic. Just make another thread in the News and Bulletins section like they’ve done in the past.

The NMS brouhaha came about from gamers getting carried away with theorycrafting and ignoring reality, some ED players suffer the same issues.

People in this thread complain they don't understand why it's being ignored by the devs, whilst communicating in a way that's bound to ensure it's ignored by the devs.

Realistic expectations.

Don't confuse the silent majority with people being silent and especially not being in the majority. FDEV can see the metrics, they know what works and what doesn't and what people do in the game.

They might see the metrics and know what people do and don't do, but what they don't know without coming to the forums is why people do or don't do. I don't engineer or bother with thargoids/guardians. FD know this. They would only find out why if they came to the forums.

Which is why it's important to communicate with them in a way they won't immediately dismiss, otherwise your voice isn't even heard (not you this threads already dead).

No, Bob...the NMS brouhaha came about when Sean Murray started joining in the theory crafting himself and started telling a few porkies about the existing content of his game at the time of release.

Don't start reinventing the wheel to support one of your arguments please, I like your posts in general as an alternative viewpoint...

I generally don't follow marketing or theorycrafting, I try to judge games purely by the gameplay. I've heard people saying Sean Murray told lies, but I've also read an article about the death threats a journalist got just for accurately reporting a release delay so I'm very skeptical and slightly suspicious of peoples claims in relation to it because it all seems out the far side of weird.

A lot of people say FDEV told lies, but that always boils down to the person claiming it being disappointed by a reality check.

Lies Sean Murray told before the game went live, including reiterating Multiplayer was a thing a week before release on American TV:

  • planetary physics
  • ship classes with meaningful differentiation
  • faction reputation with meaningful gameplay impact
  • homogenous resource availability
  • asteroid landings
  • space station and fleet destruction
  • large fleets
  • traveling freighters
  • large scale battles the player can join
  • in-atmosphere battles
  • NPCs outside trading posts and other docks
  • ringed planets
  • sand planets
  • flying between stars (as opposed to warping via the Galactic interface)
  • complex creature behaviour including environmental interaction
  • rivers
  • points of interest such as large structures and crashed freighters
  • hacking locked doors
  • radio chatter
  • interaction with other players

oof

Do you get all the paint jobs and ship kits with this?

Nope.

You get "All future expansions"

This also includes all the "Bonus" items they plop in every so often if they are to do with buying something within a certain time. (Black friday skins, because they were based on buying something within a time period for instance, also, the Cobra Mk4, as this was also based on having bought "stuff" before a certain time)

But, nope, you don't get all the paintjobs. Which honestly sucks considering the price, and the fact there has been one expansion so far.

No, Beyond is not an expansion, it's a stretched out patch, and is free anyway.
