If they make ship interiors - they'll be rich

Your thread title should have read "If they make ship interiors - they'd make ME spend a lot of money"

You're saying they should charge less, and offer a HUGE variety of liveries. Interior ones for that matter.
Yeah.. I'm gonna go ahead and say that a lot of people won't be on board with you. It's fine that that's what you personally want, but FDev putting out a whole lot more (interior) liveries for a lower price would cost them a lot of money and even more important, time. I think that might end bad for well..

(aside from you perhaps)

We already know interiors arent coming. No sense getting your hopes up.

Even so would still be nice to be able to Customize what interior we have

Would like to be able to revamp by Sidewinder's Bridge to be more in line with the ZPG ships, less exposed wires etc.
Was a nice touch then flying the ship at the beginning but she isnt E-Rated any more and nice if the aesthetics reflected that too.

I'd kill for ability to just recolor some dashboards, use carbon here and there, a bit of wood, some polish, stuff like that... There's absolutely nothing in the shop that I want right now. I mean seriously, most stuff is external, whcih you almost never see, and some bobbleheads with lights that only obstruct the view.

Really cool interiors of ships and stations and such will mean nothing unless they deal with the kludge that is the current mechanic for viewing the cockpit interior and ship exterior (while in station). What exists now is a throwback to what once was nearly 20-30 years ago. If there is one thing about Elite that disgusts me, it's how difficult it is to actually get good views of our own ships. This entire system needs to be reworked and on top of that, I would strongly suggest allowing for some form, even if it is limited, of viewing our own ships while in flight. Set up an external drone camera view which can be easily toggled. Have that mode disabled when combat occurs if you feel it's necessary for game balance. For God's sake though, get into the 21st century. All of this stuff should be seamless and easy to activate and should be IN GAME.

I rather like my FPV in this game, thank you very much! The optional external automatic chase cam or whatever is fine, but the moment any part of game-play is limited to it, it's a no-go from me. The game is already enough of an arcade shooter.

WR3ND, I certainly do not want the first person view to be excluded from any part of the game. I consider it to be baseline and necessary. I just want to have additional modes of view that can be toggled easily so that other aspects of the game can be enjoyed using different views. Exclude these views from certain activities if there is concern for game balance. Seriously though, 3rd person view has been an option for decades now in many games. There is no reason for it to not be included here. Especially if space legs are to be a thing. I WANT TO SEE MY DARN SHIP IN THE HANGAR. I WANT TO WALK AROUND IT (even if it takes half an hour (these ships are HUGE)). I also want to walk IN it.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm fine with these sort of things as options for those who want them (and I take the occasional selfie shots too), so long as they don't negatively affect or limit FPV game-play.

Cheers.

Don't worry, the cosmetics store gets regular updates every Friday. I'd like them to focus on gameplay content for now.

I would love to paint the Imperial dashboards any colour but white. Who the F thought a highly reflective colour wold be good for a dashboard.

so we're at the point where we now.. want.. microtransactions. we look forward to their inclusion.

don't get me wrong, I know it's coming. but I find it dismaying that it is now the topic of discussion. the microtransaction has become indistinguishable from the feature? the idea of looking forward to ship interior customization as a part of the new game expansion is now an alien thing?

well.. to progress! if the mtx is the new norm that makes us excited, I'll start working on moving us towards the future of paying for the Frontier $5 monthly to get acess to the super shop to buy raffle tickets to get a chance to win purchase privilege for timeshares on exotic art pieces to temporarily go on your ship.

imagine the prestige of holding a dinner party (hors d'oeuvres purchasable with arx from warehouses or with credits as a rare commodity.. may take several days worth of producing system station quotas) while you temporarily have one of those show pieces on your ship! tongues will wag!
