If you could only have ONE ship.......

No question about it for me: Python

Also, no worries about Thargoids taking over our bubble as I'm pretty sure I remember them saying it would be an opt-in piece of gameplay (most likely in their own bubble). The ship I would choose for going up against them though? Not sure as we don't have details on the new equipment yet. We've only seen some concept models of what look like launchers to me. All we know is that the normal bubble equipment (weapons and shields I'm assuming) will be useless. Or perhaps it will just be a power supply upgrade that we need to stop them from cutting our power. Who knows... Anyway, it's probably best to just think of it as a completely different progression in equipment and engineering that is separate from our current progression. #tinFoilHat

Cor-pewpew-damn-vette or the iCutter, that is the question. :p
Luxurious and comfy (internals, range etc.) Cutter versus that oversized but agile beastly dogfighter called the Corvette, oh man.

Who needs to land on outposts when you're flying one yourself anyway.

I love my DBX, trying to convince her to be a competent scrapper but the sluggishness is making it a bit tricky.
The stealth aspect is nice and she always runs cool
Not too big, not too small.
Cosy cockpit.
I can throw quite a few lightyears behind me whenever I need to, always good!

I would love to live in a Hauler or Eagle but may get claustrophobic after too long

Whichever one I'm in when they come for me ;)

Probably my Corvette, it's served me well & kept me alive through stuff that I didn't expect to survive & killed stuff I didn't expect to beat. The only black mark against it might be the Thargoids apparent dislike for the Feds. I'm sure it's all just a misunderstanding & I'll be fine

Personally, I'd applaud FDev if hostile aliens did invade the bubble properly.

Make it so all the players who want to avoid the conflict do have to flee the bubble, in one ship, and head for Colonia.
The bubble could become a VERY dangerous place to be, people would have to forget about factions and band together to liberate one system at a time.
Supply chains and proper counter-attacks could be staged in Colonia (or at a convenient mega-ship) and then strike inside the bubble to regain territory.

That could be ongoing for a year and then sufficient parts of the bubble would be back under human control that people could start returning from Colonia and regain the use of the ships they'd left behind.
Nobody would actually "lose" any of the stuff they've worked/paid for and nobody'd lose credits.
It'd all just be "deferred" during a year of BSG-style conflict.

It'd certainly be a brave decision by FDev but it'd bring together quite a few different things that've been going on in ED (Powerplay, Aliens and Colonia) and it'd create a real change of pace for a while.

Anaconda.

My Corvette is badass but has an appalling jump range whatever you do. I can load up the Conda with some heavy duty weps and modded stuff and take the fight to the 'goids while also having something I can cut and run in if I shed some weight.

Hmm. My head says AspEx or Anaconda. Both great jump ranges. But the Asp would have the better view in my wilderness years whilst humanity is re-grouping. Corvettes, Fer-de-Lances & Vultures wouldn't ever be able to jump out quick enough to avoid been Thargoid supper.

But my heart overrules my head - I would go for the Orca. It's unusual - or unpopular. Yet it has some of the best thrusters in the game - incredible speed and probably the best FSD bar the Anaconda when properly engineered or at least very close to the AspX.

I love its looks, and it would be kitted out for survival in style - able to run away from anything, yet able to navigate any system with speed and grace and comfort. Yup. That'd do me, until we'd grouped enough engineers together to build our Thargoid Annihilator Ship!

Vulture with Python a close second. Why the Vulture?......................Reasons.
900K rebuy, 530 boost speed, 23 Ly range, and as it can run circles round any ship, I doubt the flower ships will know what hit them.

It would be a Python. If I couldn't take my Python, I'd take a different Python.

Negatives: No SLF

Positives: Everything else.

Really? Its that good? Humour me, Ive never owned one in all the time Im here but...Im gonna have to go to "that" place to fit it if I buy it. I doubt I could a rate it in colonia :(

Python and Anaconda both are the ultimate all-rounders. Not just flexible enough to support different loadouts, but capable of sporting actual allrounder loadouts. On my Python I have full weapons, shields, 2x SRVs, ADS, DSS, fuel scoop, AFMU, and still ~140 tons of cargo space in 3 cargo racks (which means I have 3 more slots I could fill with something else if I ever need it). The Anaconda is the same, but it is slower and cannot access outpost due to its size. Hence the Python became many a pilot's all-time favourite.
