Ships Imperial Courier

Hugely disappointed in the hardpoint sizes - I was really hoping for 2M + 1L, and a 12-15mil price tag - but MB has said it's a very nippy ship in terms of agility, so there's hope yet.

It is odd, though, because you'd expect everybody who gets to Master in the Empire would already have a better ship than that.

Maybe. But those ships looks like they're imported. Foreign stuff infested with Gremlins and interiors geared for strange and unnatural tastes...

Finally, as a sneak peek on one of the two new ships, the base Imperial Courier is a reasonably quick ship (Speed 277) with a modest jump distance of 7.81 light years. It costs just over twice as much as the Lakon Type 6. It has three medium hardpoints with 4 utility hardpoints and as standard 12 tonnes cargo capacity.

...

Damnit...

guys, the courier is supposed to be the Cobra of the empire, there is no way it's gonna have a large.

but for 2 million i hope it's gonna have at least 20 Ly jump

tbh I'm kind of disappointed with this reveal, I was hoping this would be an imperial answer to the vulture instead it's a stepping stone to one..

Same here mate. I don't really see the point on more light ships if there's no real reason to use them later on. I mean, as soon as you have 7 million, you probably would not ever use anything smaller than a Vulture.

I would have liked it to be something close to the vulture and the asp, or a little superior to them. In the 8 million mark, or around that.

So.... poor weapons and poor jump range. I wonder who will fly this beyond beginners. I still want.to try it in the rift though, I love small jet fighter cockpits.

Light, cheap and fast. 3 med weapons are enough if it's nimble like eagle/vulture. someone said: cobra on steroids. i like it

No telling how much improvement the ship will get with better equipment.

FDL has standard speed of 260, cobra 280, clipper and orca 300 and viper 320 against 277 for the courier.

Sidewinder has a jump range of 7.56, type 9 7.71, vulture 7.93 and python 8.23 against 7.81 for the courier

Starting cargo, vulture and hauler 8, cobra 18 and fdl 24, 12 for courier.

Sounds similar to the FDL, but smaller and cheaper.

Can't wait for this ship so i can buy it, fly it for 10 minutes, park it and climb back in my anaconda. :p

On a more serious note, the weapon load out on this ship will be perfect with 2 beams and 1 rail gun i think. :D

Master is the lowest real Imperial rank. I got master while I was still in my hauler. How long do some people take to rank up?

My only concern with this is the empire rank needed to get it. I already have the cash reserves to get it, but I have no rank in any faction yet. I am pretty bad at that.
