Yes.the one that shoots three times in a row? Like the powerplay railgun?
No.Every shot does 1/3 the damage
So miss one out of three.. Loose 33% damage. Better just make one hit (or miss)
Same problem that the Powerplay railgun has
You don't know the mechanics of the game. The imperial hammer is fired at once. The imperial hammer does not fire instantly. It charges up the same as regular gauss and fires three shots of roughly 40% regular damage each - so landing all three does ~120% damage of a single railgun shot.
The modified guardian gauss fires four shots that each do 25% damage of a regular gauss cannon. There's no damage bonus for landing them all, but also missing one shot means you only waste 25% of thetotal damage instead of 100%. It also comes with more overall ammo.
Regular gauss was already a great weapon so there wasn't much point making it more effective. The modified version makes it more accessible to people who might not have strong confidence in their aiming skills.
It's a hit scan weapon, like lasers, with a delay, so it is fired at once after the delay. So both statements are true insofar as mechanics are concerned. You don't know the mechanics of the game. The imperial hammer is fired at once.
Yes, but the guardian gauss has an extra initial delay, which essentially worsens the salvation gauss gun. It's a hit scan weapon, like lasers, with a delay, so it is fired at once after the delay. So both statements are true insofar as mechanics are concerned.
I'd like you to show a video of the imperial hammer firing with no charge-up time. You don't know the mechanics of the game. The imperial hammer is fired at once.

Since imperial hammers are worse than regular railguns they are not popular in the game. But I've been using them on a couple of ships for fun for about 5-6 years now.You can tell when the button is pressed because you can hear them charging up before they fire.
Have you actually used them in the game, before telling me I don't know how they work? Why do you think they have a "charge time" shown in their weapon stats?
