Wohoo! Great news.
Great to hear we'll get access to the scenarios and great to know an estimated date for the beta, knowing that will probably make me upgrade to alpha, been considering it, just been worried it would end late April/early May.
I must say though, it's a bit sad how an announcement like this ends up on a bloody stock investor site before the game's own community has seen it.

That's just a question of following the rules, it has to be released to the city and that happens automatically at 7am and no-one is in the office then.

Excellent!! Just when I'm off for a two week forced vacation, the wife insisted on going to Spain for 2 weeks starting the 11th of April it couldn't be worse timing but it looks like I will just have to grin and bare it for now. As for this evening ... well looks like I'll be trying out some single player content just as soon as my Premium Beta access download activates and however long the installation takes.
I'm too happy to worry about how long I'll get to actually play it before I have to go to Spain. Who would have thought a two week trip to Spain would be a pain in the rear!?!

What does the highlighted bit refer to?
Alpha 2.0 was called 'multiplayer'. So do Premium Beta backers get Alpha 2.0 on 30 May? Or do we get the full Beta (i.e. whatever comes after Alpha 4.0)?

As far as I know, you'll get Alpha 4, which will be called Beta 1 I expect, at the end of May. Then you'll get increments of Beta builds the same as everyone else.
Has this changed somehow since the newsletter?
My impression was that Alpha Backers are given the first Beta build for stability testing 2 weeks before, to be absolute sure that everything works well enough when the userbase expands greatly. Later builds will have much shorter pretest periods, barring unexpected showstoppers.
