Integrate existing carriers into squadron gameplay.

We're getting squadron carriers. That's probably neutral to me but it's a big galaxy with billions of stars and one of the bonuses is tied to having the squadron all be in the system where the squadron carrier is. Why with a big galaxy are we trying to lock people down to small segments. Expand many of the benefits of the squadron carrier to all carriers owned by squadron members.

If any carrier from the squadron is in system give out the squadron carrier is in system bonus. Big squadrons with big areas could cover their entire bubble with their bonus. Encouraging people to spead their carriers out not stack them into a giant pyramid of triangles that's hard to navigate.

Allow squadron members to have access to the fleet carrier shipyard for ship storage even if the shipyard isn't installed like the owner can. The shipyard currently costs the fleet carrier owner quite a bit for something they're getting for free and the tied up storage negatively impacts their ability to use their own carrier. Make it a free perk and let the shipyard remain selling ships and modules.

Allow sqadron members to telepresence to any squadron fleet carrier with open docking permissions for squadron and take one of the ships they have stored there out for a flight.
You can charge credits for the service and put a range limit on it but it lets people go from doing their own thing straight over to playing with friends. They'll still need to build and engineer their own ships for all the carriers they'll want to jump to. It's just saving them the jumping to join up with people and then return to what they were doing. Removes a little barrier to team activities.

Add seats to the bar and captain's quarters that look out the window so we can sit and gaze out to the black.

I'm sure we can think of other things but integrate what's there. Remove barriers to group play. I'm happy to go hunt bounties with people. I don't want to spend an hour jumping ships around just to catch up to people when I've only got an hour to play.

This, but also... why not make fleet carriers more? If a solo player wants a carrier for their own stuff and nobody else, why not build a carrier with one landing pad? Making existent carrier squadron carriers is easy, just pay for the squad stuff. You shouldn't need all the extra landing pads, but if you have them, sweet, pay extra for the space. Want to carry extra cargo? Pay for expanded cargo holds.

At the end of the day, carriers are just ships, there's no reason people can't buy carrier designed to do something the same way they buy ships to do something.

The irony is that fleet carriers were designed to be squadron based. Rented for the use of the squadron.
Im not sure why we need a new carrier?
Why not just adapt the existing ones for their intended role?
And as previously mentioned, have smaller ones for solo or small groups below say, 10 cmdrs.
Introducing more of the same just seems like a waste of time.
They could easily raise the cargo spec of existing carriers. And im sure the smaller carriers would be attractive as they'd have less fuel consumption, less rental fees, and perhaps less spool time between jumps.

Because we can’t store all the goods needed to colonise a whole system build more than an outpost on board.

It's a group play focussed update. I have tried to roll this set of suggestions into that theme and focussed on the squadron benefits that could be added to existing carriers to tie them into what we've seen advertised so far. There have been plenty of give us exploration carrier threads already so I didn't want to derail this one into another one of those. Here I'd like to focus on the squadron aspect of fleet carriers and the upcoming squadron changes and how existing fleet carriers could be more squadron friendly without losing out on their existing functionality.

Sure, that's why I also put...

I just think that added flexibility to the system could do more than just make normal carriers useful for squadrons, it could also make normal carriers fancy in other ways.
