Horizons Interdiction

hmm, its not hard to evade an interdiction with such an nimble ship as the Asp...
can you please show one with you flying something more elegant, like an unengineered T9?

I thought more about this overnight and then I remembered what was bothering me about the claim that a T9 would be harder to do an evasion in.

From this >>> http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Frame_Shift_Drive_Interdictor <<< it is clear that the mass of the ships is also a factor as well as the speed of the ships.

The reason it is so easy for me in 4 of the 6 videos was because I deliberately slowed down to the minimum speed I can set in the ASPX before the interdiction began. The slower you are going when interdicted, the closer the interdicting ship must be and therefore the shorter the "thread" he has to jerk you around with.
Since the T9 is a lot slower than the ASP, it should make the thread even shorter so the interdicting ship has even less leverage to jerk you around. Add in the "MASS" factor and a small ship should find it next to impossible to interdict a T9 at minimum speed.
I have made a note to myself to test this.

You get a REP POINT for peaking my interest.

I can testify to the role of ship mass in dodging interdictions. My first serious ship was of course a Cobra MkIII and I loved it, but it was a bit of a Styrofoam Mustang. Interdictions were wild rides from both ends. I didn't know this was one end of a spectrum until I got my current ship up and running -- Federal Dropship, aka the Depleted Uranium Mule. Don't get me wrong, I love the beast, but with unmodded innards it tends to play very well with inertia -- slow to get going but once up to speed watch out! And, I find it responds both crisply and politely to stick and throttle, offsetting its inherent slowness. Best of all, the Interdiction circle stays pretty much screen center 75% to 80% of the time, and doesn't get nearly as jazzed up as in the Cobra. It's not a lover of combat but it shrugs off Interdictions like they barely even happen.

Hi all. Just my take. I get interdicted at least 2 out of 3 missions, no matter what I am hauling. Freight or passengers doesn't matter. I have lost an interdiction attempt just once, my fault as I went wrong way on throttle. I really am having a hard time understanding why so hard to evade? I put the throttle in center of blue and when it starts you are at center of evade target, so just use your flight stick as was meant to be used and in about no more than 30 seconds your back on your way. I have an X-56 and it is just to easy. I do alot of passenger runs and don'[t want to put my paying customers in harms way. I have done this in all my ships so far. From my Sidewinder, Hauler, Keelback, Type 7, etc. Easy everyone. Center of blue and fly, always to the center of escape target!
