Interesting point of view from a long time ED Streamer on Fleet Carriers

Poor.

But, yes, FCs for all seems to have been a bit of a surprise.
Personally, I would have preferred them to be a squadron asset with some multi player content.

My concern is, how much will they add to the game now?

Also, much of the squadron/wing stuff currently... is disappointing.

I'm a Vet, don't understand the issue, Elite was played solo up until ED. In the Solo days you had to hire crew to fly a ship.

Currently there is no need to hire a crew for any ship, by design. So solo works just fine and note that solo can be played in open.

Take a chill pill, and stay off onion head for a few weeks.

Im not a big fan of the idea of personally owned Carriers.
But that guys video is just word salad and i made it (1:38) through, before i could STANDS NO MORE!
Lasted longer than me, which was about 10 seconds.

Personally owned carriers surprised me too... my group was all geared up for a single carrier for us. I guess FD's logic was if they were a squadron asset, then there'd just be a bunch of one-person squadrons popping up just to get an FC.

Realistically, I don't see why a single player with the resources at their disposal shouldn't be able to have one, though their primary utility shouldn't be focused around a single player (though likely will be, now that they're individual assets)

Considering that Elite Dangerous is by design a single player game, it's not surprising that FCs are single player assets. No, it doesn't matter how much FDev talks about squadrons, multi-player and other "MMO" things, what matters is how the result. Elite Dangerous is a PVE single player game.

Personally owned carriers didn't surprise me at all. FDev have consistently shown that they are solo player oriented, and cater to individuals who, if they want, can form guilds or squads or whatever, but content itself isn't restricted to that game type. If carriers are to exist, there should be no requirement of submitting to a guild, faction, crew, squad.. whatever.

No arguments from me here. I kicked this for offline solo mode... but not losing sleep over it not being a thing.
