Interesting Tidbit...

Last night I got interdicted and I usually can defeat most if all attempts but this time I just let myself get pulled out of SC just for the hell of it. Upon exiting SC, I collided with a Cobra and the collision blew out my front glass. Now we are not talking about just cracks and a leak of O2, it literally blew it completely out.. With the front glass out, all the sound was greatly muffled ( since there is no sound in space) and all of my hud ques were gone! Apparently your front glass is also your hud and if you lose it, you are flying blind.. I had to turn my ship so I could point a small section of glass that was on the left side of my flight deck forward so I could see my hud ques. I thought this was a very nice touch for immersion, and was very impressed of the details and mechanics that are in this game. :D

Yeah, I had this happen before. That part where you see your precious air rush out through the front is the moment I started to cuss.

I just had to do it blind, following muscle memory for evasive procedures. I was not about to let some pirate get my Palladium.

It happened to me too on the type 6, frekkin awesome!, especially when your environmental visor kicks in.

Luckily I was a couple mins from docking and the air stabilized once I flew through the letterbox; nice work Devs :)

I did notice a bug though, after repairing i still did not have my HUD, so I had to relog
That fixed the bug.

Yeah, I remember giggling like a schoolgirl the first time it happened to me... So cool! ;)

Luckily the target compass on the dashboard still works, so you can get by with that, to some extent...

This has only happened to me once, but it is brilliant when it does. Thankfully I got used to using the other gauges rather than relying solely on the hud so I got back to the station easily enough. The muffling of the sound is excellent (as is the way your vision changes with the helmet surround).

I am actually really happy to hear that. (The effect, not your collision.)

I haven't had my canopy blow out since Premium Beta, but I read someone say in Beta 1 or 2 that the HUD still displayed when their canopy shattered. I am very glad to hear that was reverted to a more realistic effect. And I love your point about being able to use a shard to still navigate. That is great.

I've never been able to avoid being hit by the ship interdicting me.

Surely that's a bug I should report?

Even the authority ships do it!

Nah, I don't think its a bug. I came out of SC and he was 'just there in front of me' so I hit him. Sounds like a normal reaction if coming out of SC or Warp and there is something there.

I got the glass shattered in beta 2 but the hud still worked. The new effect must be pretty cool.

Regarding interdiction, I used to always bump into the other ship upon exit until today. When I played this afternoon, I did about 5-6 interdictions and always appeared at a reasonable distance, maybe it's been fixed by the server update yesterday...

Still happens enough to keep Direct Line in business...

I noticed that sometimes, when a target is about to die, they try to ram you and take you with them in death... It happened to me twice, and now when I see them coming at me, I duck and get out of the way...

Smart s ;)

err... great programming I mean :)
