Is anyone else getting system chat messages from systems they're no longer in?

See above. As you can see, I made a jump in the middle of this conversation. I shouldn't have been in the chat any more to receive the followup replies.
I don't even know if the first guy saw my reply or what system he's sending it from.

The weird thing is I'm sure this has happened before - I passed through the system where everyone was mining for the CG a few weeks back, and my chat was getting idle chatter about mining even when I was a dozen jumps away.

Yes, I've experienced this since release. I've had this in Open after visiting CG systems (which were completely empty for me at the time), yet I still saw chat from people in those systems long after I left. I was also briefly in a PG after launch and the same thing happened there. It doesn't resolve itself until you exit to the main menu and log in again.

Same thing happened to me when I participated in the CG to support Yuri. After I left, the chatter didn't stop. I ended up hiding system chat.

You can also get chat from places you haven't been yet (but are close by). I got dredger chat and was confused as I thought I must be in the correct system - but I wasn't (yet)

See, I wouldn't mind that so much if we could reliably talk to each other but as far as I can tell attempting to reply to these intercepted messages just flings them into the void.

I posted a bug report about it during Alpha. It was closed with the 'this is intended behaviour' response.

It's obviously not intended behaviour, but maybe if this thread gets 10+ cmdrs in it we can have another go.

Yep, it keeps you in the system channel for every system you travel through until you log out. Your replies only go to the current system though so when you reply without knowing where the messages are coming from you end up sounding like a crazy person.

By design would be to see the chat history, not to be spammed by new chat from the system you just left and you cant respond to...

This time I clarified that it's showing NEW posts from the previous system, not just the chat history.

Of course, to every random player I see anywhere. Then when they accept, I tell them to stop harrassing me and block them.

Yeah this has been annoying me since Alpha... I can't possibly guess as to why this change was made if it's by design.
