Is it getting quieter here?

can only speak for myself.. but that C&P sucked the fun out of it for me, to much hassle. and instead of getting frustrated with it, i rather go play something else..

Yep, same for me. I'm all for C&P having consequences, but to make me Wanted & lock-down my ship for a 200cr fine is beyond stupid.

Thankfully, FC5 is out today, so I'll be taking a break from ED. BTT I return, maybe FD will have implemented some of the proposed changes to reduce the severity of punishment for low level crimes.

There’s been plenty of forum chatter, but it’s all centered around the same three or four dull topics, so my interest has waned somewhat.

Unlike apparently everyone else, I have no issues with the new C&P or Engineer system.

I like what they've done, I'm also impressed with the speed they've been getting out fixes.

You're comparing Sunday (most people's day off), with Monday (the busiest day of the week for a lot of people). :)

I was just picking up on two recent peaks. I think the Sunday was actually less but I wanted to compare two peaks so that it was fair. The lowest moment was actually zero but that was when a patch was being uploaded I imagine.

Straight off this is not a flaming post or a "I quit" post. I'm still here, still playing and happy...ish.

What I am noticing is a slow down on the forums and I'm wondering why. Their is the obvious thing that 3.0 came and went which brought many returning players back and they have perhaps now put it back down. A shame but not really a loss, more a return to normality. As an active recruiter for a player group though I'm also seeing far less "LFG" posts, has everyone found their groups now?

All speculation but what I'll put out is this bit of data collection:

Patch 3.0.3 was announced at 11:10am on the 19/03/18 and 12 hours later the thread had 576 responses.
Patch 3.0.4 was announced at 3.33pm on the 26/03/18 and 12 hours later the thread had 242 responses.

There is the obvious different times which could play a factor but arguably the US time zones would actually have been more active so why is patch 3.0.4 not getting the same attention.

I guess what I'm really asking: Is this a return to normality or were those "I quit" posts for real and we've actually witnessed a mass reduction in the playerbase?

My take - still a lot of 3.x bugs to fix

The latest earners-of-the-month are less compatible with spending most of the time on the forums than Smeaton was?

3.0.3 had - in addition to the usual "thanks for fixing my bug" and "you didn't fix my bug" posts - a lot of criticism of the outfitting restriction decision. So that may be part of it.

Everyone is slowly blocking everyone else until there's no-one left to talk to, I think. :)

You could argue that by providing that facility they've put the responsibility onto the players to deal with it themselves following whatever criteria they like, or not if that's what they choose.

Player empowerment and choice is always good.

It's blending a refusal to help yourself with constant moaning nobody else has stepped in to do the thing you can already do yourself more easily than reporting it that seems a bit iffy to me.

Personally, I use the forums a lot less than I did because of the rabid fanboi element...I just got tired arguing about the same old recycled stuff week in week out and still having frontier listen to their tears to have exploits removed and nerfs issued.

I got my own issues which will never be explained and that reality has started to make me quite bitter at times...unfortunately, players cannot explain these issues so theres little point in trying to discuss them at all...and frontier aint exactly famous fer their great communication so...I just semi gave up trying at all.

In short, I find the forums just too full of self entitled snobs who believe they are right and couldnt be wrong about anything even if they tried to be...wears ones patience down after a couple years...they win the forum, its theirs I just come and have some fun now and then at their expense and thats about as much as I can motivate to care nowadays.

They know who they are ^

Oddly enough I've become increasingly impatient with all the same old pointless whining, although after a patch it always happens. The noise to signal ratio is crazy right now, dangerous discussion is just a sea of tears.

There's the occasional bit of hilarious flotsam bobbing past, but for the most part it's just very wet.

people tested the new releases, and now since not much seriously imporved, leave agaon to come back after the next one. Also, the range of interets is content dependend. so compare the patches content.

Very much agree absolutely 100%...the month after an update and the few weeks before are the worst although its not the complaints that wind me up the most, its the rampant fanboi element who I despise the most and I just lose interest and wander off to somewhere they aint ^
