Is it not possible to make Tooltips a configurable option?

Hi Commanders,

I know this has been discussed from time to time, but I think this requires some attention so we could finally get an answer from FD.

I'm a PC player, but play with the xbox controllers and the damn tooltips are seriously breaking my immersion. I know I'm using the xbox controller but I don't think my ingame commander is. Seeing things like in the attached screenshots really shouts out "it's just a game, you are not flying a space ship"...

Yes this is another My Immersion!!one!1 topic, but this seriously annoys me and I'm sure it must bother lots of other experienced commanders too. I would really appreciate it if I could disable these tooltips from the configuration.

Cheers,
CMDR vipeFIN

I may be alone in this perspective, but it's actually helped me on occasion when I've either taken an extended break and forgot what my bindings were, or if I am doing a different role I haven't played in a while. I'd be fine with an option to disable it though, even though I probably wouldn't.

im reminded its a game everytime i go to outfitting and dont see small seismic charges there, every-time i look it feels like a small kitten dies somewhere.

that aside, i completely sympathise with you, i mean my living room was completely breaking my immersion but i didn't have many funds to build my own spaceship and actually fly it in space so i've had to improvise....

so my brother of immersion (or sister im not prejudice) you need to get the washing machine into your living room while on spin cycle and sit on it while playing elite dangerous... dude it will seriously blow your mind!

then if you get some little cut outs of elite dangerous images and tape them to your eyelids you can pee on the cat in the corner of your living room and its like you haven't left the cockpit of your ship!!!, its glorious,

PS i think my cats dead because i forgot to feed him, after-all you cant have cats in space and it was breaking my immersion to open the cat food with a tin opener, there was no other option.

hah Kenneth.

All I'm saying is that this should be a configurable option (IMO) and it makes no ingame sense to display "press A+LB to do stuff" in the ships GUI. The commander on the seat must be really wondering what the f that "A" key is

I agree that no shortcuts should be printed. These are information messages in space ship.
Add more hints to loading screen, i.e. "If you find yourself jumping in anarchy you may want to cancel the jump by pressing the key the same way you can cancel any fsd charge process".
Or add separate layer to display hints which could be disabled in the settings.

believe me, the "Press A key" cropping up is the least of the CMDRs "imersion" worries in an enlarged cockpit
