Is Mining still not giving ARX?

OFC. People min-max everything and from myriad activities that provide X goods in Y time they will pick the one that results in the best ratio. Especially welcomed for those who participate in low ARX source activities and/or have limited time.

Since start of ARX system I'm sitting at 50-ish and expect to reach weekly cap somewhere near the year's end. I would like to know what gives more ARX so I could get bit more with my casual approach.
Using material traders to swap mats around in your storage inventory gives a good boost to Arx without a lot of effort or time. Also, it seems, collecting them (from such as combat scenes or at USSs) gives a boost to Arx numbers, as does using a wake scanner at space ports.

Whenever I've been mining, I always go to a Material Trader for Raw Materials afterwards, so I can balance it all out (no more than 70 of each). I actually get more Arx from that, than I ever do for the mining. So, I thought I'd try selling my gains from mining in stages, to see if that made a difference. I sold all of my Painite, in 50t increments and guess what? It made no difference.

Arx is a mystery to me.

Back when the September patch first landed and people were mining, and crashing a lot, were they also managing to gain any ARX? From what I've read, the intent was that Mining would indeed grant ARX, but it was heavily bugged so they removed it. I still hope that this is a temporary work-around and not a classic FDev nerf-fix where they remove an option rather than address the underlying issue.

As ARX = real money to those who enjoy Cosmetics - you really can save some dosh by earning them in-game - balancing ALL play styles to be equal in this regard is pretty important I would have thought. Why should one player who spent a set amount of time shooting stuff get a particular cosmetic cheaper than another who chose the "wrong" activity to engage in for the same amount of time? Mining can be equally as engaging as Combat depending how you approach it, personally I'm constantly on the look out for the next asteroid, firing off Prospectors while my limpets gather the fragments from the prior asteroid. I can slow down my pace and have a more relaxed time but, for fun, I was seeing how quickly I could reliably fill my hold time after time. I quite enjoyed that self-challenge at the time.

The thing is, I've never bothered with cosmetics, I just like to understand what's going on and how things should be working. As it stands, if mining is your thing and you like to pick up cosmetics too, you're going to potentially be out of pocket compared to someone else who chose a different activity in-game. This post isn't me whinging about not getting ARX, I'm actually not planning to mine again for a while as I've hit my cash goals. I had actually planned to find some USS's to gather some more materials, and perhaps hit up some other Material and Data locations to top up my Engineering resources. Not a clue what the same amount of hours doing that might earn me. Though I'd expect not much for the travel component as it's not very involved.

Scoob.
