"Is the game dead?" returning players keep posting here and on reddit, due to blank Galnet

Yes, sad but true. Really poor

If that did happen this would be the scene:

It still amazes me that Frontier has been working on this New Era for almost two years now and we still have absolutely no info on even a tidbit of what that means for the game.

Frontier loves keeping secrets. I don't understand it either as some information on what the future holds would go an incredibly long way towards creating confidence, which would in turn help to sell more DLC. People are losing interest, and that is not good for the franchise.

I asked in the recent frontier stream about whether the way MS communicates the development of its upcoming flight sim in a competing market is something they could emulate. It was ignored, along with all other questions about the future of ED. Instead they focused on the new community guys favourite food or colour.

I don't think it's the community manager teams fault (I bet they'd love to give more info), but rather the senior management who appear to have no clue.

Hey, tell you what, why don't we try and bring an element of sensibleness to this so it can all be discussed reasonably.

First step, you admit that you were asking questions that were patently not very suitable for the topic of the stream which was introducing the new community manager.

Second step, you admit that asking questions about the new community manager are suitable and reasonable for the stream in question, given that it's purpose was introducing the new community manager.

Third step, you admit that as we got answers to requests for clarification on what's happening with Galnet, which includes both now and the future, your statement about all other questions about the future of ED being ignored is not entirely true.

Fourth step, you admit that given all that, your post just makes it look like with respect to the specific topic you raised (i.e. the livestream in question) you're trying to make an issue out of nothing.

Once you've done that then maybe there'll be grounds for reasonable discussion.

If that's the case, all its good indeed, very good move. Did not know about that, thanks for the info!
Some minor points of clarification... (Also tagging @Lunchmoney who judging from the likes might also have missed the news, and @hho whose post is being clarified.)

How could you say such a thing? Have you never been introduced to psychoanalytic video game criticism? Nothing ever simply is what it is. Suppressing questions about issues such as Fleet Carriers could cause serious conflicts in the unconscious processes of community managers. Fleet Carriers can cause strong impulsive action, and people typically form complex mental solutions to live with these matters. Why do you think their favorite color or food was what it was?

Your inappropriate question was pointed out, and the absurdity of it was pointed out, but this is how you respond. Yikes. A stammering third-grader would have a smoother response to getting verbally dunked on.

You framed your entire post around the idea that because you were ignored, your view was somehow validated, as if you were ignored for any reason other than the fact that the question you asked was so violently off-topic.

the fact that the question you asked was so violently off-topic.

Holy mother of whatshisface. Violently off topic!
You do know the forum's about a being a pretend spaceman, don't you?
Get some perspective fella and take note of that last point in your own signature.

Let's leave aside the (relevant) point that's been made, that the stream wasn't about future content or fdev communications.

Instead let's consider what MS is doing re it's upcoming flight sim. The product is new, hasn't been released, they are building hype, marketing the product for when it releases. This seems very sensible.

Should we really be comparing MS pre-release dev videos and apparent openness with fdev's Elite information?

No. We should compare it to fdev's pre-release information for similarly new products. Elite? Lots of videos, dev info, hype. Most recently Planet Zoo - dev streams, pre-release hype, just what I guess you are talking about.

Rightly or wrongly, there's a difference between building up to a new product release, and a dlc for an existing product with existing playerbase. I imagine there will be lots of info in the period 2-3 months before Elite's dlc release though.

Take a breather, relax, and think before typing. Tantrums don't help image or any kind of message you might be trying to deliver.

Adding quality informative on-topic ideas and information does.
