Horizons Is the ship holo instruments/interface looking a bit dated?

This is not a rant or a major criticism, just wondered if anybody else thought that the ships interface/instruments were looking a bit dated & tired????
I'm not in any way criticising the layout, or indeed the content, as I think FD have nailed that aspect.
I just thought recently that the whole holo effect was looking a bit........low rent.
I know that many people, have changed the colours of the holo info, on their ships, & for FD to incorporate that as an in game option, would be a great deal of work. So lm assuming that any visual change to the holo info, would also be a major undertaking.
What are your thoughts/ideas on this?
Just curious as to what you all think.

It's an interface that several major manufacturers have agreed upon for use in all of their products. People must have spent millennia in meetings to make that happen, and any result of such a bureaucratic nightmare would necessarily look like a bucket of compromises on ice :D

I think it looks way too modern.
I miss the flicker effect it used to have , how it sounded like just running the hologram was stressing the onboard computer and how all it used to be simple orange lines with near to no backdrop.

I would like to see some variations on it per ship.
Nothing major but maybe a default colour that changes based on the ship but the genral layout is the same.

Of course that would cause issue as in lore its ment to be a standard , but we can change our desktop theme so why not our ship HUD?

The customisation of the HUD is not very good IMO , its cool that they let us do that.
What I would love to see if the option to either buy presets that make sense or to be able to change elements one at a time (so have the main hud be white for example but keep the colour coding for blips)

I would definitely like to see some more character for the ship manufacturers. Things like differences in instrument layouts or displays, or even recurring themes with the interiors. Also a different "ing Betty" voice for the d fferent ships manufacturers warnings would be nice.

Got used to it of course, but yes, completely agree with you, OP.
I would have preferred a more modern design too, with "solid" instrumentation, and different layouts for different ship types.
Never been a fan of holographics.
In the end, it does what it's supposed to do, but it certainly could have been done more appealing.

I agree. Some changes or "options" would be very welcome but my biggest disappointment is that every single ship has exactly the same UI.
It would be great if at least ship manufacturers had it slightly different so we don't see exactly the same thing in each chip.
HUD looks way better than it did in beta times but some of the old ideas were not that bad.
