Is there a way to get the numbers of CMDRs pledged to each power?

Given all the things about ED that can be queried by 3rd party websites, wouldn't it make sense to make known how many player support each powerplay faction? Does this maybe even exist somewhere already?

Support as in "pledged at all", you can get some estimates from Inara - https://inara.cz/elite/galaxy-statistics/

When you complete a week, the inbox message you get tells you your rank within the power; if you know roughly where you were on the percentage scale at the end of the previous week, you can get a fairly good guess at the number of active players in the power (e.g. if you come 180th and think you just missed out on top 10%, then your power probably has just under 1800 active players ... whereas if you do a one-merit trade and still come 180th, your power probably has about 180 active players)

Comparing the active player estimates from that with the Inara estimates gives fairly similar numbers for the relative sizes of the powers, so the usual sources of error in third-party estimates probably aren't benefiting one power over another much; as a very rough guideline 2.5% on the Inara stats is probably a little less than 1000 active players in any given week (the total number pledged will be considerably higher but possibly not all that important now, and will get even less important after a couple of years of active player rotation)

Mahon being so low in the ranking is quite worrisome. By some reports, Patreus' & Torval's player bases are so low that the other Imperial powers have resorted to propping them up. He being that close to the bottom yet having the biggest territory must be giving some people nightmares.

It looks like it got cleared at the update, and is only counting people who've logged in and updated Inara since, yes.
Aye, I guessed that was the reason... I tried to dig into my SS but didn't retrieve the previous one I made around end of october  that was very likely much reliable.

Torval clearly needs some sort of PR campaign, a rework, something to get red blooded commanders signing up. Perhaps a swimsuit calendar?

You can get it from the Wayback Archive, with September 15th being the latest PP1 snapshot. Probably didn't change much over the following month.

- no longer being the sole source of Prismatics dents Aisling's pledge count substantially though she does stay in first place by a clear margin; the other Imperial powers stay about where they were.
- total Federal support stays about equal though moves slightly over to Winters
- total Alliance support rises substantially with Mahon gaining even before Kaine's supporters are considered
- Grom and Antal make the biggest gains
- Delaine sees a significant drop

On the other hand, that shows one of the major flaws of PP1. CC meant everything so it was easy for a small number of players to solidify #1 for pretty much the whole decade.

Though Mahon has also had the fifth highest gain in controlled systems since the start of PP2, so it can't be worrying people that much.

With a lot of Mahon's space consolidated at the top of the bubble a long way from other powers, where anyone attacking it is going to face a big BFP and be unable to capture the freed space themselves even if they do win, they're probably don't have all that much actual border.

(That might be an interesting stat, thinking about it: how many of a Power's control systems are within Acquisition range of another Power?)

That would be a critical stat indeed. I imagine the most vulnerable Powers would be those bordered by hostile Powers on opposite sides.
