Engineers Is wake scanning bugged?

Currently in a distribution center trying to collect data mined wake exceptions. I've scanned 65 wakes. 64 atypical wakes, 1 strange wake.

Is this bugged or is there some method for famine systems with higher scan rates for the data mined wake exceptions?

Does the value of the ship effect the drop rate?

That does make sense. I'm now 0/100 scans for data mined wake exceptions with these sidewinders.

Not so much the value, but those particular readings only come off of large ships HIGH en wakes, no low wakes.

You can scan another 1000 sidewinders and you'll still have nothing.
Scan Annocandas and up

Can find from occasion data points from land bases. The ones you do in scan missions

Thank you all for the info. I did try several different ways of gathering these and nothing was dropping. Eventually it just took trying several different DC's and after another 100+ scans I got 5 data mined (so enough for 15 rolls). So may not be bugged, but the drop rate st less than 1% chance seems a tad on the low side for engineering goods. Thankfully I hope to never seen them again so here's hoping I've seen the last of the RNGineers for the foreseeable future.
