I've got the Galaxy map sorted, but cannot deal with the system map

Help!

I've managed to get a combination of joystick controls that actually works very well in the Galaxy map but for the life of me, I can't seem to easily select anything in the system map without having to zoom all the way and only then being able to select a planet, and the star? Forget that.

What am I doing wrong?

What is it you're trying to select?

Use the left menu to select stations. For surface settlements, zoom into the planetary map, then select it from the left menu. Once you get used to it, it works like a breeze.

To select any stellar object in the system map it has to be in the greyish circle in the center of the screen.

If you were aware of this I'll be leaving now...
