I've won every single NPC interdiction since they changed it...

I think interdiction should be a dice roll. It should take into account the NPC ship, the quality of their interdictor (make the range a static thing), and your ship/rank. Mix in a little RNG and it should either automatically fail or succeed depending on those factors. If it fails, have the interdictor "cool down" for that specific person for a set amount of time, and if it succeeds, well...pew pew.

Super easy: Take a D6 and roll it when interdicted. You can even design your own encounter random chance table to your very own liking and have it played out as you prefer. [up]

Here's a suggestion for crossing the road; don't look both ways and just accept being run over by traffic, problem solved. [up]

If that response sounds idiotic, which it is, just imagine the statement that it was responding to.

That’s a nice straw man argument. Do you mind if I ask where you got it?

Yep, I noticed my ninja like Anaconda easily escapes interdiction my all manner of fighter orientated NPCs...

Still catches out AFK super cruisers, maybe that's all it's meant to do.
I've earned bazillions doing AFK supercruise, never ever was interdicted in the middle - it simply not possible due to how supercruise works. In the middle speeds are so high and you keep increasing your distance - nobody will get close enough.

They only can interdict you when you've just started accelerating (first ~5 minutes) and when you've already near destination body (last ~10 minutes), when all this crowd catches up and you get ~5 consecutive interdictions. But there is easy cure for that too - just re-log in, this will respawn them in random far-off locations that you will have enough time to dock in peace.

I got caught by this on a passenger run, I think this NPC had been plugging away at my Cutter for quite some time (15 minutes) and I was down about 1/2 ring (8D). lol.

Asides from that I haven't fought an interdiction in a couple of years! And I can't imagine a scenario where I'd bother again in the future :(

I thought as you did. It's not technically possible. A friend who was doing the same runs described being interdicted in mid cruise and I said the same.

Then I watched a NPC appear out of nowhere, turn and intercept me at roughly 1400 c.

Amazing a total NPC cheat, but there you go.

Which is probably how I got AFK interdicted as above.

I assume this either didn't exist yet or was already "fixed" for ~month when I was playing.

Not sure, it didn't happen every time, in fact probably only twice to me from about 20 runs -> Once when AFK, once when not, both mid cruise at >1000 c. About 2 weeks ago.

I'd like to add that it [NPC] appeared from in front!!!! Looped behind and instadicted. The closing speed alone should have caused a rip in space time.

Well, I was playing several months ago and did more than 100 runs at 36 Ophiuchi. Never seen NPCs in the middle. It's quite higher distance and speed than Smeaton though, maybe thats why.

I've won every interdiction since they changed it in Horizons.

Even after they made it harder it was still really easy for me to escape though some NPC's put me on my toes on the very edge of ripping me from SC.

Now? Escape is always possible.

On the flip side? Interdicting someone is ridiculously hard when before it was just a challenge.

They really should roll back that change.
