Yesterday a friend and me were playing and decided to meet at a Space Station, when we got there we were clearly on different servers as we couldn't see each other. We created a group and rejoined but it appears that there where no other public?

I maybe missing something here; probably tbh but is could there be a way of if you log on and see a friend playing to click on his name and join his server?

Go to the same instance location, say a station.

You will see a hollow square on your scanner.

lock it to make sure it is your buddy.

All fine, you can fly alongside each other.

Now, jump to Super Cruise, tell your buddy to do the same, there you go, a hollow square shows up as soon as he loads in SC.

Now, take the lead and go into a Signal Source. You will leave a low energy wake object.

Your buddy locks that FSD wake and disengages SC once he reaches it.

He enters your USS instance and helps you out.

( note: if latency ( not ping ) is too different from each other you might not see each other most of the time )
