Hayo coaster friends!

Welcome to the July Monthly Catch Up! We'll be making sure you're up-to-date on all the latest news about Planet Coaster: Console Edition, and sharing some of our favourite community creations from the past month.

News:

To kick things off, we hope you all checked out the Planet Coaster: Console Edition Gameplay Trailer! This short preview of what you can expect featured snippets of gameplay that we can't wait for you to experience yourself. If you missed it, or just want to rewatch it, you can do so here:

If you enjoyed a glimpse into the gameplay, it's definitely worth watching our first Dev Diary: Expanding the Experience. You can hear from some of the developers working on bringing Planet Coaster to console, and catch some more behind the scenes footage of what the team have been working on:

We are also proud to announce that Planet Coaster: Console Edition will be sold digitally and physically this Holiday season! You can read the full forum announcement here, but in short, like with our digital release, you'll be able to buy Planet Coaster: Console Edition physically on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and the Xbox One family of devices, including Xbox One X.

We hope you enjoyed hearing from Lead Designer Andy Fletcher and Head of Technology Matt Simper in our Developer Journal: Building the Console Experience! If you haven't read it yet, here's a small excerpt for you, from Andy:
'We really wanted to give creative players faster access to the most important or commonly used building actions, so we implemented a radial menu system that presents shortcuts to these actions front-and-centre for quick selection. This worked so well that we wanted a similar level of quick access for the other tools options in the game. So not only did we set up a radial menu of shortcuts for all the major toolsets, but we ensured that the more extensive settings could be accessed via D-pad navigation of a side panel. This means that while you’re building paths in the game, you have immediate access to the options that allow you to change what type of path you’re placing, how wide you want it to be, or whether you want the path to tunnel underground. We’re really pleased with how efficient the creation tools have ended up feeling.'

Of course, they're not the only people we heard from this month. We had a very special guest join us for an Entertainer Profile: Princess Amelie ! She's so busy, it was tough to snag her for an interview, but we're glad we managed to catch up with her!

On a different note, this month there have been some changes to the Community Team for Planet Coaster. Lead Community Manager Bo waved bayo to Frontier, with Senior Community Manager Tim moving over from the Elite Dangerous to take on the Lead role. Community Manager Paul has now moved over to Elite Dangerous. You can read about the Community Team changes here.

We've been absolutely astounded by Kombat Wombat's Neo Tokyo: Cyberpunk City! It looks incredible!

Wikz's Plancoville Hall is a wonderful blueprint with a lot of versatility. We think it's definitely one to check out on the Steam Workshop.

We've really enjoyed seeing Blackmanshadow's Neon Signs that they've created using the Thememaker's Toolkit. Check out the Ice Cream sign here.

Jurre and Deif have worked on this outstanding projected, which they finished in under a month. Watch Operation Vindication's Cinematic Showcase now.
