Jump range of the prebuilt ships?

Edit: I realized I could check the stats/details of the prebuilt ships in-game...

See below, the Asp is the winner with unladen ~74Ly range.
It also comes with very decent shield and hull...might even survive a short encounter with grankers when used in open as a long range cab :)

Hi commanders,

What is the default jump range of the prebuilt ships, purchasable via ARX?
Is it listed somewhere?

I am considering buying one to have a cab that would be instantly available at any shipyard/FC (i.e.: remotely sell it, then deploy it locally at no cost). So the bigger jump range, the better.

There's an "Exploration Jumpstart" DBX available in the store.

It'd be nice if the store specified what modules are fitted but the description does say it's fitted with an FSD Booster... although there's nothing saying what size it is and, honestly, it usually seems like FDev's pre-built ships have kind of flaky loadouts.

Yes, I'm eyeing this one...if only somebody could confirm the jump range by default..?
Pretty please! :)

Little insider tip - if you access the store through the game menus (GAME EXTRAS/PRE-BUILT SHIPS/ Select ship of interest /Toggle details) the detailed specifications pop up in a handy window top right and ship stats laid out mid-screen for your careful consideration.

Well it came as news to me!

The pre-built ASP is a really good deal for players who only have very limited time. Just buy it and enjoy a few hours of your precious freetime out in the black.
Or to be used as a cab that can be deployed instantly.

I'm even thinking to use it in order to deal with notoriety:
  • Hand yourself, you and your low range ship get transferred to a Detention Center megaship (this clears up the local bounties and fines but not the notoriety).
  • Fly to the closest shipyard (some players FCs, which will be around the DC, might have one)
  • Deploy the prebuilt Asp, fly back to wherever you were.
  • Transfer your ship there (will take some time), and use another ship in the meantime.

Looking at those stat's, they're not really doing the poor ol' DBX any favours, compared to the AspX. 😟

Can't recall what the actual stat's are but I'm pretty sure my exploration DBX has a very similar jump-range to my old AspX, if not further.
I assume they must have given their AspX engineered modules but not the DBX.

If FDev sold a Hauler with a pre-engineered FSD and an FSD Booster, with the yellow paintjob, I'd seriously consider buying it.
If wish they had my 850m/s Courrier...only 50Ly range, but can run away from any gankers! But granted, that's pretty niche ..
This prebuilt Asp is nice to jump around, but I might have a hard time going back the the station at CGs with it :'-l

Well, a Hauler with EPTs can do something like 650m/sec IIRC.

People don't expect that when they interdict you on the way to the station in ShinDez. :p

Oh nice, although it may still not be good enough: even with 850ms I do happen to get hit by a rail on my way out...an extra 200ms is something that does make a difference against an opponent boosting around 500ms.

They did the DBX first, when none of the ARX ships had any engineering. And every time someone asked on the forum if the jumpstart ships were worth it, we (truthfully) said that unengineered components suck, and unengineered ships suck, and the jumpstart ships didn't jump enough to matter.

So now ships get released with some engineered upgrades, and the AspX is the cream of that crop so far.

But yes, the DBX is close to the top of the charts in potential jump range when engineering and guardian tech are applied, although I'm not sure precisely where now that double-engineered FSDs are available in all grades. I suspect it might still be third behind the Mandalay and the Anaconda.
