Jurassic Challenges Help

That may or may not help.

Jurassic difficulties (not sure about the others) have only a set of dinosaurs you can choose from. So far, I don't think I've seen any of the previous additions added to them (I could be mistaken).

The only update that I can think of that severely impacted Jurassic difficulty was the change to Germany (removal of lagoons) - and that change made it harder.

For Canada, I can confirm a win is possible without going for the Spinosaurus (it's really expensive). I got to 4.5 with the Giganotosaurus, then the last 0.5 with a herd of Suchomimus.

A large variety of prehistoric reptiles is one of the factors that make Jurassic World Evolution 2 better than Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis and Jurassic World: Evolution 1. I decided to wait for more DLCs for the variety to grow. Each challenge mode regardless of difficulty have a set of prehistoric reptiles for us to choose. For Canada and Southwest USA challenge modes, it is the dinosaur variety.

Ever since I completed the Northwest USA challenge mode in Jurassic difficulty, I find dinosaur cohabitation needs work especially for the Germany challenge mode and the sandbox mode. Otherwise, I will hate my process of getting 5 stars in the Jurassic difficulty Germany challenge mode like in Northwest USA challenge mode.

Germany is easier than NW USA overall, and now fly/marine are back.

Well, updates for NW USA: I managed to pass the 3 star milestone. Having feeders helped save headaches and the Tylosaurus pair boosted my rating.

Now I'm replacing older species with more popular choices

the main challenge in later stage was to make enough attraction in a small map, especially with limited shelter.

Just be mindful about the species variety penalty when you're going about replacing and not adding.

That is one of the things I hated when doing the Northwest USA Jurassic difficulty challenge mode. Another thing I hated is exhibiting Acrocanthosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus separately, it consumes a lot of space.

That's the biggest challenge point.

But it makes no sense. Dinosaur cohabitation in Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis and Jurassic World: Evolution 1 is better than Jurassic World: Evolution 2.

Challenge mode comes from the challenge conditions.

Is there a reason in particular that Acrocanthosaurus and Carcharadontosaurus should be able to co habit peacefully in an enclosure?

Both are apex predators.

Acrocanthosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus belong to carcharodontosaurid family scientifically speaking.

However, Spinosaurus is powerful of all the bipedal carnivores in North Africa and would surely compete with Carcharodontosaurus for food.

In Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis; Jurassic World: Evolution 1 & 2; it makes sense for Carcharodontosaurus and Spinosaurus to dislike each other as they fight each other for territory.

Just finished NW USA on hard, so I'm relieved now.

What challenge y'all suggest I do next on hard? I've done none of them (I'm trying to unlock the skins)

Congrats. I'd say SW USA. The sooner you get that out of the way, the better it will be for your sanity.

Would it be better to wait for new DLCs before attempting Canada and Southwest USA?

We need all the dinosaurs available to meet the dinosaur variety in Jurassic difficulty.

I got the skins from completing United Kingdom and Northwest USA on Jurassic difficulty.

Yes and no. The reason is that DLC dinosaurs, whole unlocking them sooner, are more expensive to research, send expeditions for, and clone

Regardless of gameplay; during park development, it is best to have scientists having traits of cheaper research, cheaper expeditions, faster extraction, faster research, logistics specialist, and genetic specialists. When DNA extraction reach 100%, lay them off to cut costs. Keep the teams of cheaper synthesis and cheaper incubation due to dinosaur aging.

Before reaching five stars, do not build amenities that cover food. Try getting cash by doing the amenities coverage contracts.

Long answer:

Addressing the messages in red. I'm leaning towards no. The Jurassic mode challenges are perfectly doable without waiting for DLCs. Having more dinosaurs to chose from is fine, but you still need dinosaur variety and you're still limited on how much space you have to enclose them. As it is, it's not really feasible to enclose all the dinosaur options we have for challenge modes (if all you want to do is go for a win asap and get the skins). Adding new ones wont make a significant difference, only offer what would amount to an aesthetic choice. I'm making this assumption based on the idea that Frontier doesn't add some super herbivore with a crazy high rating that loves everything and each other.

Getting dinosaur variety in Canada will not be hard as by the time you start filling out the map, it will come naturally. You don't even need to incubate the "big bad" that's available to you (In this case, Spinosaurus). My advice is to just play Canada as you would any other challenge and ignore variety altogether (keeping in mind what the Canada challenge is - costs of everything).

Dinosaur variety in SW USA might prove a challenge, and that's going to be up to your park design. When I won this one, I don't think I used all the available options. I didn't even cancel out the penalty. The developers were kind enough to give us enough "big bads" to offset. My suggestion to DarthQuell to do this one first is that this one is the most unique of the challenges. All of the challenges will test you on getting your park up and running (and making money), this one will test you on getting it finished. It's possible to get a park going here and have it all come crashing down on you. I saved the game often in separate files such as SWUSA-1 SWUSA-2, SWUSA3, and so forth so I could go back to a point prior to a bad decision.

Short answer:

No

Actual answer:

It's really up to you. Play the game in a way that you enjoy!

Cheers!

"Big bad"? Are you referring to the most dangerous dinosaurs that we have to look out for?

It might seem like an understatement, the following required caution:

  • All species belonging to the Dromaeosaur family
  • Allosaurus
  • Carnotaurus
  • All species belonging to the Carcharodontosaurid family
  • Tyrannosaurus Rex
  • Spinosaurus
  • Giganotosaurus

Update: After I got the Feathered Species Dinosaur Pack DLC, I am trying out the Canada challenge mode in Jurassic difficulty.

I am not sure if anyone have to layoff and re-hire the staff before the genomes of all the prehistoric species reach 100% and almost everything is researched.

Update: I completed the Canada challenge mode in Jurassic difficulty. I did it mainly to unlock the data on the Insectivore Feeder and the in-game's Baynshire Formation.

I am not able to enjoy the process of making this park as I felt bad for cramming the dinosaurs.

The current cohabitation setting is still disgustingly appalling, I would appreciate if the following cohabitation relationships are to convert from dislike to like:

  • Torosaurus can cohabit with Triceratops
  • Camarasaurus can cohabit with Apatosaurus

Given the fact that the new Deinocheirus is also discovered in Nemegt Formation, would it better if it can cohabit with Gallimimus?

It is not just for anyone new to try the Canada challenge, but also for the Germany challenge and other gameplay modes.

Until I gotten my hands on any of the future DLCs, I will try the Southwest USA challenge in Jurassic difficulty.
