Powerplay Just Joined PowerPlay...

I joined LYR.
Took somethings, somewhere.
Earned 10 merits.

Spent 500,000cr to be able take 50 more somethings, somewhere else.
Now I have 60 merits.

Then randomly invaded somewhere, killed somethings.

Then returned home with 300 merits.

I now have 360 merits!

But it feels slightly the same as what I was doing before.
Fly somewhere, with something, or fly somewhere and kill something.

PowerPlay. Doing Exactly What You Did Before.

There is a powerplay manual, I would suggest giving it a skim.

I woudl suggest looking in the powerplay sub-forum, or looking up your power on reddit. Reddit is probably better, as this is where hte number crunchers tend to hang out and the "plan" for the power is communicated.
You do not have to follow the plan, but it will give you some insight into what is involved in powerplay.

The mechanics are indeed drop off "stuff" and "shoot things", but where and the reason you do them is the important thing.

Heh, frankly, I don't care about the plans for my power.

I'm just testing the waters, seeing how long it can take to earn 750 merits.
Which is apparently about an hour. Lol
(I did 300 in 20 minutes)

All I want are pack hound missiles.
Then I'm off. Lol

I shall return to doing alternate forms of murder in about 3 weeks to gain rank 3.

I flew to a random hostile system, dropped in to the nav beacon and basically just blew up anyone belonging to that power.

Then promptly scurried away to supercruise when security showed up, did a loop and dropped back in on the beacon and did it again.

3 times in a row, I found a wing of 2 sidewinders and 1 T6 for the PP faction.
They didn't put up much of a fight. Lol
9x30 is 270 merits. Plus I killed a loner, so 30 more.
300 in 20 minutes. Lol

I do have a 50,000cr bounty there now though. Lol

They buffed merits per kill to 30 a long time ago.

You know more about Powerplay than I do. I have occasionally considered going after some Prismatics, though. Hmm... Perhaps.

You earn merits with undermining enemy controlled systems. Works best in anarchy systems as you just have to supercruise, enemy will interdict you....so the targets coming to you, or like you did at the nav beacon.
The reason to undermine anarchy systems is simple, you don't get a bounty on your head.
If you belong to Aisling Duval you have to kill Sirius Security ships in their controlled system.

I tired Anarchy but no targets were at the nav beacon or in supercruise. Lol

Probably looking in the wrong system knowing me.

I'll return to my hunting grounds in about 3 weeks to claim my missiles! Mwhahahahahah.

Then I'm gonna transfer my Anaconda and Gunship in and load em top to bottom with pack hounds. Lol

Then I can cause chaos wherever I go!

I have no idea why, but I no longer feel the need to play ED since joining PowerPlay. It's that bad! lol

Maybe because in my head, PowerPlay is a complete waste of time.
But I want those missiles launchers.

So until week 3, I don't actually need to play ED at all. Lol
But I will.

No single NPC can kill me*. So I can just stick to Mobius until I remove this glaring "shoot me" sign off my ship. Lol

(*We won't mention the SLF routing my FDL incident!)

PowerPlay does need a good old revamp doesn't it?

This is what I did to get a clismatic shields;
Pledge to bubble gum princess, then do nothing.
At almost 3 weeks pledge time, buy yourself to 10k merits. The millions you spend are nothing compared to the time need to get the corresponding amount of merits.
At 3 weeks, buy the shields, then defect.

I signed up three and a half weeks ago. I get my Pack hound at the start of the next cycle.

I have two commanders, so I just parked my PP one at LYR's home base in his cutter. Then I just log into that account every so often and get the allotted stuff. Once full, take to where it's needed.
