A very complicated character he was. He was one of the few not celebrating the technological succes on the night of Hiroshima. His wife had just died and he saw the cold war before anybody else. He was also a Nobel price winner in physics who often went to the local strip club to play bongo drums for the women working there, and according to what I've read they were very fond of him. Mindblowingly good teacher and an excellent scientist. Very likeable. He is the closest I've ever been to any sort of deity.
One of the great things about Feynman was that he was skeptical in a very down to earth manner. He was also human in a very human way. He wanted to know how stuff works, but he was first of all a scientist with a proper understanding of the philosophy behind it.
