JWE 2

Hmm... would be weird if Dreadnoughtus turned out to be in the base game... you'd think they'd remake it for Dominion, since it's appearing in it.
True, same with the others, unless if the JWD DLC comes out with new models where we can change them. Curious if we will have that with JP/JW models, skins and textures as well with the chaos mode.

Really hope we will get more answers about carnivore diets since herbivores have paleobotany. Will we get pigs, cows, fish, sharks and meat piles (like in JWE). All of them have been in the franchise. It would make more sense to have them. Goats are snacks for large carnivores compared to a cow.

I was also thinking about the Lagoon, wouldn't that mean we would have a water depth tool? We should and in hopes we can give our dinos more water to swim and walk through. Make a better wetlands. Perhaps even make mud that interacts with our animals. Will we have heaters and sprinklers to help in harsh climates for our animals like in PZ?

I'm curious as to how we will feed our pterosaurs and aquatics as well as how well they will be able to be viewed. Will we be able to upgrade them to have tours and other viewing options? What about the placement of streams and waterfalls? It would be nice to have especially for our pterosaurs.

Do you think we will have more tour and options of interactions for guest and the animals?

Will carnivores have ambush and stalking behaviors? Such as stated by Dr. Grant with raptors, having a raptor that is to have the prey's attention and the two other raptors come in for the attack by the sides? Kind of like guerilla warfare? Also the Trex hiding in the trees and attacks as in JP?

How soon will we see full interactions of challenges, pack attacks, herd defense and so on I wonder.

Really curious how it will all work with pterosaurs and aquatics.

Does anyone else find it weird that pterosaurs perch on top of the viewing areas where the guest can't really view them??? How will that be addressed in game? Will pterosaurs climb and then glide off of the tree/rock?

Will we have any tours, views and interactions with our animals expanded on?

What do you all think? Do any of you wonder about the same things?

They've already said water is the same as it was in jwe and based on the gameplay seen so far that rings true. No water depth. I assume the lagoon will be very similar to the aviary in regards to how it's built. Modular sections.

I also hope they extended the carnivore food options. only having goats or a pile of meat was really, really boring. The fish at the time was a great addition though, I would like cows.

I hope the pterosaurs have specific objects at least that we can place (trees, logs, nests etc) so they can land more areas then just what looked like the viewing places... I'm actually getting a bit hesitant about any excitement for the aviaries now. the pteranadons looked nice but how they just flew from side platform to side platform and no other landing was.. disappointing.
I don't expect much from aquatics however, just how much can an aquatic creature do xD maybe a pod of Ichthyosaurs moving together, maybe some jumping, would be nice.

It really sucks if they don't implement later on water depth as I think it would add more to the game. Especially for our aquatics, I get it that it will be like the aviaries but what will we be able to place in it and I can only assume then it would be at a set depth. Be cool to have underwater caves and viewing tunnels. How viewing, touring and interaction will happen with the lagoon and aviaries is what I am also concerned about in the base game. I think it would be better to have the viewing at mid height in aviaries. Hoping to have trees and cliffs within so that they can climb and perch. It would be better than on the viewing platforms. It would also be nice to be able to have a waterfall within the aviary so that we can watch our pterosaurs fly into it to catch fish and/or perhaps have fish in the water areas which really needs water depth to dive into the water to get some fish. That just makes more sense to me.

There should be more to do within the aviary though as in tours, viewing and interactions. Same for the aquatics and hoping for expansions on what they already had for our land animals. If not on release, hopefully later on down the road. It is in the franchise, it brings life and interest to the animals and game. It would be for the better if it is done, I think.

What do you think?

It's not just the skins though... from what little we seen, the Dreadnoughtus in the Dominion preview looks like an actual Dreadnoughtus; more like a giant Diplodocid that a Brachiosaurus clone.

Flying Reptiles:

In JWE we did not have to worry about feeders in the aviairy, it was 'assumed' to be an auto replenish system as we could not send Rangers into them.

In JWE2 I'm hoping that will not be the case. As we currently know, Pteranodon is the only confirmed 'flyer' at this time. In JP/JW cannon they ate both fish, carion, and people.

For fish, I hope at the least, they skim the water, dip thier beaks and come up with a fish. I would love for them to dive from height, submerge, and come out with a fish. For carion, a carnivor feeder would suffice. I hope that they will buzz/peck at Ranger teams, if said teams can enter aviairy.

With the game's penchant for small/medium/large 'things', I expect to also have a large and small flyer. The large could do fish, carion, live bait, and small dinos. The small, I would love to see an insect feeder (dragon and butterflys).

I agree that we should be able to place viewing galleries at different heights. I also would like to choose my landing spots and choose different flight patterns from a list. The landing spost would be denoted by a 'bird's nest' in the size appropriate to the species size.

Hopefully we will be able to compare soon from the movies to their representation in game.

I hope that it is all more than adequate and they don't rush it. Given that we have 4 months left till the end of this year. I'm starting to wonder if it would be better to have it delayed till everything is as good as it can be.

That is true but just like that. I'm hoping to see the pterosaurs like our other animals. See things like that should be in there and I know it is too soon to tell. However, the released vid shows it being a bit better with more options. That's true, would be nice for an insect feeder. When playing as a compy in The Lost World JP. You were eating dragonflies. So it wouldn't be too far fetch to have that as a feeder.

I would think our ranger/vet team would eventually have to enter our aviaries and lagoons somehow. How else will they be taken care of. Just seems like there are just a lot of unknowns and how they will interact with the animals. What events will take place and so on.

I wouldn't want so much as micro manage the landing and flight but I think it would be more sensible as the animals are to act as actual animals. Give the imitation of life so I would want to see them make their own next in the landscape that we create within the aviary. See them glide, climb, eat, drink, rest, challenge, socialize, groom, play & etc.

Same for aquatics and other animals. Will they sing, groan, grunt & such? I wonder how it will all play out.

Curious if Frontier will be at Games com and that we get more info and gameplay. The gamescom 2021 takes place digitally from Wednesday, 25.08. to Friday, 27.08. 2021

I'm also curious if the game really will be ready by the end of this year or whenever they think they will release it. Given that we have only seen pre-alpha and alpha within the trailers. I wonder if it will be debugged, polished and pristine by the time of release or will it be delayed. Guess we will see when we get some more official info, but wanted to at least have the Gamescom info.

Curious also to what the Pre-order might be once it is announced.

I'd say it's pretty much guaranteed they'll appear at Gamescom, for at least other things being worked on/published if not JWE2, EvoSquare even pointed out today that they've got a bit of a trend of making their presence known quite late.

We'll see what happens, but I'm fairly optimistic, given the fact it's a self set deadline.

As to the pre-order bonus this time around, it's hard to say, it could be anything, Planet Coaster's console edition had a new coaster as the pre-order bonus, so it could end up fairly significant, hopefully not a dino pattern or colour. It could be vehicle colours again, seeing there are vehicles that didn't exist then.

I saw that so hopefully we will see in a couple of weeks. What of the pre order dinos? think that will return?

Seems like our pterosaurs will get insects and fish
Jens stated that the 'factoid' about insects was just IRL knowledge and there are no plans to add insect feeders to the game. It seems the 'flying reptiles' will be piscavors and eat fish from a feeder, which if you look closely in the SFG, lower left side in background water, when the 'Don' is preening itself, you can spot the fish feeder

That sucks... would have been nice just to have fish populate in the water source that could be filled be rangers, while insects could roam and see the pterosaurs eat them up and such... Would have added to dynamic behavior and interaction.

Hopefully not. Those dinos weren't exactly well done.
I am also of the idea that any pre-order exclusive content should be released at a later date, if essential.
I'm sure we will get something for Dominion but before that, we don't know. It could be the plus to the 75+.

You mean Deluxe DLC? Yeah, I'd say that's pretty likely, Planet Zoo had one too. They're fundamentally base game you have to shell out a bit more for.

When it comes to things being preorder bundled, I'd rather it was minor, considering they literally are never available again for anyone else (bit of a crooked move in a financial crisis to make it too significant), same as any other promotions like the Jungle Ankylosaurus skin. Vehicle colours is acceptable, animal colours would be taking it a bit far I think.
