JWE3 Species and Ideas wishlist

If we do get Cenozoic animals in the game, what if certain maps or biomes were better for certain species than others. You could expand that to all species to make game play more interesting.

I think it would be fun if they take a page from Planet Zoo where temperature plays a bit more of a role in creature exhibits. That way we could house a Mammoth in Isla Nobler provided we have the appropriate cooling facilities in their enclosure.

I also think JWE3 could also benefit from a more expanded terrain brush and vegetation set. Sometimes I want to make a desert like enclosure in another biome, but the sand never felt right. It felt like having cacti on a beach. If we get different types of terrain like planet zoo has (rough and soft), then it would make for more varied enclosure setups.

@TheKingofallFrogs Originally the species is called Othnielia, the science nowadays call it Nanosaurus. Othnielia debuted in the original novel version of Jurassic Park.

What do you say to Hypsilophodon? It debuted in the original novel version of The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
Ahh I thought I had put Hypsilophodon there, thanks for letting me know.
And yep I am familiar with Nanosaurus being the same as Othnielia. I am not sure which one Frontier would use.

I ended up making an "ultimate wishlist" for JWE 3. I know I have a lot of potential ideas and I know not all of them will make it, but I honestly just did it for funsies!! Ended up including some references to Life On Our Planet not because it was good, but because of the Amblin connection.

New features:
  • Additional disasters: floods, heatwaves, lightning storms, wildfires
  • Animal breeding; some species can change sex through genome traits (ex: Velociraptors)
  • Balloon rides
  • Bridges; can go over rivers, exhibits, and maybe lagoons.
  • Cattle and pig prey feeders (can recycle rigs/models from PZ)
  • Cretaceous Cruise ride
  • Expedition Map overhaul; focuses more on continents rather than entire globe just so things aren't cluttered.
  • Hadrosaurs and sauropods being able to fight back properly.
  • Hatchery overhaul; only works with land dinosaurs/reptiles. New nursery building is used for animals that give live-birth both on sea and on land.
  • Island/Map generator
  • Holoscapes
  • Lagoon/Aviary overhaul
  • More animal behaviors!
  • Skin/texture variation: Can use all skins from JWE1 and 2 alongside new ones. Unique skin patterns/skins for specific species.
  • Petting zoos
  • Sanctuary/Site B Mode
  • Semiaquatic abilities retroactively given to already-present creatures (i.e. Archelon, Nothosaurus, Spinosaurus). Allow creatures to swim and enter lagoons.
  • Small animals are transported via crates and not helicopters.
  • Submarine rides
  • Venom genetic ability in certain animals; cannot be changed or modified (Includes both types of compies, Dilophosaurus, Megalania, therocephalians, and troodontids).
Man, you are so missing this fantastic reptile from the Cenozoic carnivores:

There were also some Mammals during the time for Dinosaurs and plant eating crocodiles.

That would be interesting. But I wonder if that would cause even more PK comparisons.

This would be amazing but I would also like if they added it to where you could have a bigger build space (like on isla nublar you could have the entire island instead of a small part, this would use a map system where you could go to different parts by clicking on a map icon, like this map, so builders could build certain places in the movies and shows and ig games too in their canon places in the island. They could also add the JP ruins on a certain icon.

That actually sounds like a neat feature too! I would love that to be an actual feature in the game.

Another decent idea might be to add a few mini games that give you small amounts of cash if you complete them (fossil miner game where you click on rocks that give fossils of different value then when the time runs out you get the value of each fossil you mined added all together, Restocking feeder minigame where you drag steak/herbs onto a feeder and you get money the more feeders you refill, (these wouldn’t be required more of a small thing to help pass the time while your waiting on something to finish) it might make the game more immersive and help you get out of bad financial situations when your in debt or close to, and some mini games that give more money might require a small payment.

I think it could be worked on, like you start off with the canon size, but I suppose with expansion it could work. It isn't uncommon for theme parks to expand their territory.

I also think they should fix San Diego's layout because it should be more city-like than complete desert. I actually don't recall if there's any urban areas surrounding the park in canon so please let me know if I'm wrong on that.

I actually don’t think there are any urban areas around the park, I was using the JWE2’s version but yeah it makes more sense to have city area around or atleast close to the park, that could add a chance for protesters from the city to come and protest the dinosaurs living conditions (the reason why protesters probably wouldn’t be on isla nublar is because paying that much money just to get kicked out for protesting is a stupid financial decision.)

And if someone thinks it wouldn’t be expensive for some dumb reason, I calculated how much a ticket would sell for, based on JWE2 logic ofc, there are 11 dinosaurs species in my park, 20 amenities total, and 49 dinosaurs total with 6 out of view and 100% guest comfort and approval and each ticket sells for 194.6 USD per guest meaning a family of 6 would pay 1,167.4$ USD that’s a sh*t ton of money for the average person for 1 trip, though it’s still decent considering that your looking at a park 65 million years in the making.

I ended up doing some googling and yeah I think Frontier did San Diego dirty here. They ended up turning downtown San Diego into downtown LA with southern San Diego basically being Palmdale or something like that.
It definitely should've been in an area that was more populated I think. I don't live in San Diego or Tijuana but I think that 'open area' is just mountainous terrain, so clearly not fit for JP San Diego.

Disneyland is also centered in an urban area too so like I wouldn't see JP San Diego being in the desert either. Though it appears the concept artists for TLW didn't do a good job either since there's a forest that doesn't exist, very much an artistic license on geography.

They got the layout slightly wrong aswell, I mean yeah lost world wasn't one of the more popular movies (box office compared to the first movie (Lost world made $229,086,679 world wide and JP made $978,167,947 world wide.) but still frontier could've done better. Tbh if they spent a few more years on JWE3 (Maybe 1 or 2 at most) but made it the best JWE game with some if not all the dinosaurs from your list and the features you and I have came up with it would be a game that they could make DLCs for the new movies that come out and let it be the end of the JWE franchise instead of making a new game for every movie that releases. I don't even know if JW rebirth with be good. The whole movie from what's been announced seems to have missed the point of a JP or JW movie. Sorry for my rambling.

I think your ideas are pretty good, its kinda weird we didn't get extra minigames and we've only been stuck with the photo one since JWE.

I should also mention that the in-game screenshot I found on Google was a fan-made recreation and not anything official by Frontier. I only wanted to share that screenshot just to show how weird it is to make the map a barren desert instead of like the city maps from both Zoo Tycoon games or Planet Coaster's city map. Thank you for the map screenshot as well!

Also regardless of the movie being good or not, I will be boycotting it due to Scarlet Johannsen's support for a certain apartheid state. The world's been in complete hell in the past couple of years and I am not trying to spew politics here. That's just what I'll do, it's sad because I really like these movies.

That sounds like the island hopping system in both JWE and JWE2. I welcome this and call it location jumping. It would be great to just load sandbox and at least have a same map location jumping system.

  • Animal breeding; works like any other zoo-sim game but some species can change sex through genome traits (ex: Velociraptors)
  • Small animals are transported via crates and not the same "cage" used for big animals.
  • Submarine rides
  • Venom genetic ability in certain animals; cannot be changed or modified (Includes both types of compies, Dilophosaurus, Megalania, therocephalians, and troodontids).
Awesome list, though I would also add Meganeura and Isotelus to the Arthropod category.
