Keeping Market filters after navigating away, comparing mates, etc

I want to compare mates before committing to buying them, or buying the other half. Currently, I haven't figured out a way to compare two mates I haven't bought yet. Whatever, I just buy one and then compare to others in the market.

But when I'm finished comparing, it brings me back to the market.... with all my filters reset and the scroll bar at the top. This means I have to memorize the name/general genes of the mate I just compared, which is never a good sign. I also have to set all my filters back to the right species and sorting.

When a game is all about management, these useless side tasks are VERY mentally draining. I can feel my tolerance level draining as I set the filter anew each time. Sometimes I just give up and buy the last one I compared.

I'm pretty sure the Habitat section retains your filters when it's closed out, so I don't think doing the same for the Market is a long shot. Usability-wise, I don't think All Species is such a common criteria to have it forced on you every time you open the Market. Usually I'm looking for something specific, and if not, I'm fine with setting the filter to All Species myself - it is right there at the top!

I agree. At the moment the whole breeding/inbreeding and genes concept seems half finished. The criteria is there, but fulfilling it is extremely tedious.

While playing I sometimes feel like all i do is sort out breeding partners: selling offspring, keeping them from fighting over alpha status, while scrolling through the market list (which is NOT in alphabetical order) and setting filters time and time again.... looking for animals with good genes for breeding with my existing ones.

There is a lot of optimisation to be done, to make this really enjoyable

The filters in the market (at least in franchise) stay when you go away, the filters in zoo management don't - this is what I'd like to see.

I think this is a general issue. For example, if you want to see the genetic stats of animals of a habitat, the obvious way is to click on an animal, select the genetic tab, then click on the next animals - I'd expect to see the same tab, but it switches to the overview tab again. I don't remember how it's solved in Planet Coaster, but in Planet Zoo it's painful. So, same problem. The filters/selections/etc. should stay. And I agree, the filters should be in alphabetical order. Additionally, there should also be a search field to simply type in what you're searching for.
