Sorry about that. It is working ok. I looked at the top part of the sheet and when I saw the empty Warthog throttle I wrongly assumed that the throttle entry wasn't working correctly. I think I expected to see the Pro Throttle next to the Warthog stick which of course is not practical. It was late ;)

An amazing tool. Brilliantly written. It spotted that (along with many others it seems) had configured my 'yaw' as digital instead of analogue.

Brilliant. Thank you so much for this :)

Hey i just got the X55 and I'm trying to make life easy to put the following binds on http://www.mcdee.net/elite/binds/mtewch
However I've got this on steam and I can only find a binds folder for controllers themselves is there somewhere hidden that im not spotting?

I'm afraid I don't know if steam puts the files in a place other than the Frontier version. If not then the directory you're after is %LOCALAPPDATA%\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings

Hi JGM
Looks like a really useful tool as I am still experimenting with different layouts
I am using the fully upgraded Horizons 64 bit on Windows and cannot find the Custom binds file that you refer to
Can you assist a newbie please ?

Open up your windows explorer and select the location bar at the top. Paste the following in to it:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings

There should be a file called 'Custom.1.8.binds' in there.

Awesome tool! i think this is a very helpful tool to have.

Since you are using permalinks for the different bindings, would it be possible to have a list shown on the website of all the different bindings that so far have been put into this website? Right now i have to look through pages and pages of web forum posts to find different bindings that work with my Hotas X and my xbox360...

And maybe down the line if you implement that feature, you can also add a voting system and a comment system so that we know which profiles are updated to the latest version of ED and which ones are the most popular and work the best. Just a thought :)

Hi! There is no specification on how to report issues, so I'm going to just start and see how this goes on..
permalink id: xpflql
Problem: I was just testing the generator with a bindings sample. I use two different joysticks, one of them is T16k, the other one is a (logitech) gamepad not being detected.

I really love the tool, I was looking for my templates on internet to write my bindings before I knew about this.
Cheers

I don't support that gamepad at the moment but I've found a decent graphic so should be able to add a template. What I will need, however, is for you to fill in your current bindings on the template so that I can map them to the correct values. Would you be okay to do this?

The file you need to fill in is at http://www.mcdee.net/elite/res/f710.jpg

hold on, you want me to fill the jpg? how do I specify the 'two button' stuff, can we do that? I'm using combos on the pad (e.g. Y and left cross for targeting). do I just fill up the labels for normal bindings and ignore the combos?
Cheers

May this be useful to identify the buttons, more than my current bindings?

I have removed the Mode and Vibration, as they are not buttons but internal controls for the gamepad itself. I can still do my own bindings if you need that, but I guess you are after this layout.

Okay this is the mapping that is generated given the bindings you supplied:

xpflql-f710.jpg

Note that some of your modifiers are a bit back-to-front. When setting up multi-key bindings you are best off holding down the modifier and tapping the button you want to use (so in your case holding Y and tapping dpad up/down/whatever) so that the modifier remains constant.
