Keyboard and HOTAS Reference Sheet Generator

I though it odd as I dug an old file from a while ago using the same controller and that still seemed t parse ok.

I have not been in this thread for a while. What is the difference between the original site and the edrefcard one?

jgm no longer had time to continue maintenance of the old site and so handed over to me. Since the old site was part of his personal web server I set up new hosting at edrefcard.info - hopefully an easier name to remember!

The main user-visible changes so far are that I've added Dualshock4 support and a list view. Support for a few more controllers is in the pipeline, but for the past few weeks helping out with EDDI has taken up all my spare cycles.

Ok... so I haven't played in a while (6+ months) but had my PS4 controller set up how I liked it when I was playing. Found this great site and wanted a controller reference to help me dive back in. Looks like a great tool and I saw a comment saying that DS4 is supported.

But I keep getting "unknown controller detected".

Is there something I can edit in the XML of my existing bind file to get it to read properly as a Dualshock 4?

Thanks for any help.

If you supply a description it will save your bindings file under a six character code. Let me know that and I'll take a took. DS4 support is new, and the first one I've done, so it's possible I overlooked something.

The default DS4 bindings are at https://edrefcard.info/binds/zoqbyl if you want to download and compare them.

Yeah, the problem with the DS4 is that it's not nativly supported on PC, even thru Steam...I tried it. Steam just emulates an Xbox Controller, which doesn't have a touchpad. And on the PS4 the DS4's touchpad has 4 pretty vital functions: Upper Right - Next Firegroup, Upper Left - Previous Firegroup, Lower Right - Systems Panel, Lower Left - Navagation Panel. Combine this with the fact that on PS4 the DS4 already lacks about 5 or 6 bindings, makes it super cramped on the PC. What I havent tried yet is the official Sony Dongle.

I think if you register it, it will work. I think (not completely sure though) that the registration is in the "Big Picture" mode, but it seems to work even when "big picture" isn't running. I don't play ED through Steam, but I play another game through Steam. I registered the DS4 controller in "Big Picture" mode and it works great even when not in that ode.

Thanks for the report, I will take a look as soon as I can get some time. I can get your binds file from the server URL you gave me.

Back again. Mouse problems. It depends on what you have assigned to the mouse controls as to whether or not they show up in the image. I think it may be because the binds file has different names for the same button depending on what it is controlling. For instance if you use the Mouse Scroll Button in the free camera suite it is referred to in the binds file as Joy_17 or Joy_18 (which your program detects) but when used for a fire group it is Pos_Mouse_ZAxis or Neg_Mouse_ZAxis (which your program does not detect) similarly Mouse 1 button is Joy_16 or Mouse_1. Yeah, for whatever reason jgm never added a diagram for the mouse. But if there was one, the annotations would appear on that diagram and not on your X52 Pro.

How come your X52 Pro is emulating mouse buttons? Is is some sort of third party driver from Saitek or Logitech?

Heya VB!
Love this reference sheet generator. But it doesn't like my Logitech Wingman Rumblepad, or the Cordless Logitech Wingman Rumblepad. I have the first bound to Vehicle controls for the SRV, and the second bound to Free Camera controls.

Perhaps I am not explaining clearly. The X52 Pro has, on the throttle, a mouse stick, a left mouse button (M1) and a combined right mouse button and mouse scroll wheel (M2). These are shown on the generated diagram. If you refer to refcard https://edrefcard.info/binds/rizmjk you will see M2 annotated but on this refcard https://edrefcard.info/binds/krxnxr where the M2 assignment is different there are no references on the diagram. If you download the 2 refcards and a run a diff on them you'll see what the assignments are. In both cases M1 which is assigned to 'reset headlock' is not annotated on the diagram.

Hi, save them as permanent profiles please (by giving them a title), let me know the URLs and I'll take a look.
