Then you should broaden your horizons.

Besides - it’s only temporary. Get over it.

So, basically any issue with the game and how it's being developed, is met with a 'get over it'??

I'm guessing people who complain about combat logging should 'get over it'?

People with issues with the BGS should 'get over it'?

People finding bugs should just 'get over it'?

I hope the update brings you all you wish for.

What I didn't quite get is what bounties get revealed on a normal scan. What I got: Using the KWS reveals all bounties of all factions present in the current system. A normal scan will reveal interstellar bounties when they're issued by the same super power as of the controlling minor faction. Does a normal scan only reveal interstellar bounties and bounties by the ruling faction?

If you decided to leave it as is, I'll buy you a nice cold pint of Guinness :D

He might collect on this, patch notes made no mention of actual changes to KWS other than changes to KWS would be coming soon.

Hopefully this is more a trial and that soon might become a never (other than fixing the bugs which were identified), and it turns out people are happy with it. It seems to me the original changes made in beta were what really sparked this whole debate in the first place if it was the same there as current live, I doubt this debate would have even happened.

Jynessa:

No one is certain about anything. The proposed changes in the KWS might well be several updates in the future. If it remains the same as it was in this beta, there will be no need for a KWS. More players than just myself will remove it, for the power, weight, and utility slot savings.

Then, we will need to be convinced to re-mount one.

Politically, for Frontier, this is a failure. They are having to back pedal with changes and fixes, to something they thought would not disturb the player base. Even if they find a reasonable solution, it will not fully regain the trust lost.

Even if your trust in Frontier's ability to justify, and fix the KWS problem is justified, the political damage has been done. I'm sorry.

Well, I think you may be misinterpreting the reasons I'm even posting.

My point wasn't to defend Frontier - what I wanted was to understand and discuss the proposed changes. Which is what this thread is supposed to be about... in fact, what it was created specifically for.

Since sollisb has now openly admitted he wasn't even discussing the changes proposed in this thread but was instead complaining that they aren't going to be in today, I'm satisfied that that particular piece of misinformation has been put to rest.

I'm always a bit wary of people using the word 'politically' in these kinds of discussions. Frontier aren't running for government. This is supposed to be a discussion about future proposed changes to one part of a videogame. I simply would rather that discussion stayed on point, which is those proposed changes in the first post... a dev actually created this thread to receive feedback on them.

If you genuinely think none of these changes are going to matter (because the 'political' damage has been done), then I'm not sure what the point of having the discussion is at all? In your mind, I mean.

For me, it's been an eye-opener. Firstly, in how the old KWS actually worked (I was wrong about quite a bit of it), but also in realising that not only is the new proposed system a lot simpler than the old one... but most importantly, I've discovered as a supporter of independent factions, I've been fighting uphill because the old system was not working. If there was a superpower-aligned faction in the system (which there were in several systems I was working), they were unfairly favoured over the independent factions I was trying to support. The new system levels the playing field. I would very much like these new changes to come in, since the current live system does not work properly.

However, keeping things in perspective, I've been perfectly capable of playing the game for the last three years, and while it turns out all along I've been struggling with a system that unfairly penalised me, it obviously didn't make that much of a difference, or I would have noticed - I still enjoyed working those factions, I still enjoyed doing the missions and bounty hunting. In short, I still enjoyed playing the game.

I'm willing to wait to get those new changes - but before we do, I think it's pretty important those changes are discussed and poked and that they are got right this time around. For that, we need a discussion, and it isn't going to be helped if the changes proposed aren't even understood properly.

As I've said elsewhere, I also think it's very important that once the changes go live, they need to be tested by us players to ensure they've been implemented correctly and nothing has gone horribly wrong.

Just to be clear - when you say "interstellar bounties", are you talking about the current Federation/Empire/Alliance ones? And are you asking about the new system or the old one?

In the new system, yes, a normal scan will reveal the bounty issued by the ruling faction of the jurisdiction. If the target has that bounty (and assuming you're not in Anarchy space) you'll see it show as Wanted.

The old Federation/Empire/Alliance bounties are being removed and replaced with bounties from local factions of equal value. If those extra bounties aren't from the ruling faction, you're going to need the KWS to reveal them.

A normal scan will also reveal the new Interstellar Bounties, if you're in the right jurisdiction. These are meant to be player-related and NPCs aren't going to have them initially - so if you're asking about what will show up on NPC's, you can ignore the whole new Interstellar Bounty thing for now.

The new Interstellar Bounty only kicks in if you manage to accumulate bounties on yourself worth more than two million credits. So as an example, if you manage to get various Federation factions so irritated with you that they issue 2 million credits worth of bounties on you collectively, it'll become a big Federation Interstellar Bounty, which will make you Wanted in every Federation system. This would show up if someone did a normal scan on you in Federation space, so watch your six.

Reading and comprehension seems to go over your head. So to compensate, you post some twisted version that suits your narrative. That's fine by me. I can dismiss it. And you :)

<o fly safe, I have better people to debate with.

For transparency; I have been specifically targetted by this person, by name in numerous posts. I have not used the 'report post' feature as I don't believe I can lower myself to that level. However, I will allow no-one to simply twist and bend things to suit their logic and use my name and publicly call me names and a liar. I will not accept Ad Hominem attacks.

I was talking about the new system and you answered all of my questions! Thank you very much.

Hello Commanders!

Might be worth checking out the latest update notes for Beyond - Chapter One, with specific reference to crime and the Kill Warrant scanner:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ond-the-features-of-3-0?p=6447488#post6447488

Hopefully, I'll be able to talk a little more about this in today's stream.

Hi
I think that sounds pretty good. :)

I like the getting bounty vouchers from neighbouring systems. It seems logical that that is what a KWS should do, a bit like contacting interpol

Thanks

good luck with the launch today btw

Thanks for the update Sandro, it's been interesting to read through the threads & your input & direction. I hope any amendments required will be addressed as quickly as possibly & communicated clearly if they cannot be.
