Krait Mk. II, it's now a Python analog

So I'm going to have to revise what I said before, apparently the Krait is released this Thursday.

I shall now celebrate in orthodox fashion.

I bet it's a lead sled. The python pitches like a pregnant cow, but has good lateral thrusters and poor top speed.

The krait with all that fire power and slf capabilities must have some drawback? Ok less cargo cus that the pythons nich is medium ship with large cargo. Probably still 4 utilities, probably runs hot? But that would make it more conspicuous i would have thought?

Humm it must have rubbish lateral thrusters and mediocre pitch pluss half the cargo cap of a python. I mean why fly the python in combat.. ever... now this ship is here?

I mean i hate slf so i guess theres that. I love the shape and vibe of the ship but i just cant escape the odea it must be seriosly gimped some how so it balances out in the line up of medium combat ships.

Have to cripple the new ship so that it doesn't show up the old cripples? Kinda makes sense. Sorta.

Conspiciousness isn't about how easy you are to detect, but how likely cops assume you'll be using that ship for criminal activities.

Hoping 8 internals like the python... Bet is has 6... Which really means five because fighter bay.

If it has 8 then I will be pretty happy, not even that bothered about the size of the slots. Just the total number of them.

Exactly. I want to bring a lot of different toys, and only a few need to be high-class (shields, fuel scoop, plus at least another one for a decent hangar).

Its been in-game for ages. Ships have a hidden 'conspiciousness' rating, which determines which ships get scanned first by sysAuth. They basically say the Krait will be scanned after the Python, if both a Python and Krait need to be scanned.

Is it contextual? An imperial ship should have much much higher scan priority at a Fed station, for example.

Hold your horses! If people really think that space legs are coming they are delusional. If space legs will be in the game it will take years and if you really think about how this engine is done, it's quite certain that we MAYBE see this phenomenon in sequel or such. If you think that you just put animation rig in the game and "POW" magically we have moving avatars, you really don't know how these games are made and how hard it is.

What's with the crew being pointed out? My hope is we get a sitting NPC crew...

Totally.

Basic: Just fill the damn empty seats with randomly generated crew. They do nothing other than you can see them in VR and freecam.
Better: The crew has audio banter and state some of the info the ships computer says now. "Incoming Missle" or "Frameshift Drive, Engaged". etc.
Best: You hire crew members and they provide a small bonus to various components similar to what Engineering does. +X to jump range, +Y to power output, etc.

I don't believe so. It might be affected by your reputation with the faction that owns the station, but I think that's it. Primarily just a baked-in attribute of ships.

Not necessarily power creep. Its internals might be less spacious than the python's, leaving it less versatile. We also don't know what it's flight model is. Point is even with it having the same hard points plus an slf, it won't necessarily make the python obsolete.

I dunno... it does feel a bit power creepy. I mean, 3 Large and 2 mediums? And the glass cannon is effectively another Class 3 hardpoint, in its own way. Yikes!
