It's basically a more combat oriented Python-lite, which is what I expected honestly. The game needs a ship to compete with the Python and the Krait will likely be a decent counterpart. Less cargo, but better in battle. Should be a smuggler or pirate's dream, except for the limiting four utility slots.

I never expected the Krait to be a great explorer or trader, but I am curious what kind of jump range it can get when modded and trimmed for low mass. The view out the window alone might make it an interesting exploration ship, as long as it can get a decent range.

Another combat ship. How surprising.

Depends on how you outfit it. With lightweight parts, you could probably get around 24LY jump with it, and that's enough for some decent exploration. You could also forgo the SFL for cargo racks or passenger cabins (Though the Python is a better choice for those). Its also been confirmed to be less quick to get scanned, so its good for stealth missions too. Seems much more flexible than the Python, but not as Tanky or spacious.

With those stats I don't see it as a pure combat ship like the Chieftain at all.
Imho the Krait will turn out to be a very much used multipurpose ship.
It's got a bit less cargo space then the Python, is a bit faster and can carry an SLF as option, oh and it can land at outposts.
I'm realy liking these stats and I'm not a combat pilot.

Its jump range is almoste exactly the same as the python.. so that should give you a good idea of what to expect from it.

In fact the internals are the same less 1 class 6 slot. (I think that class 1 was the interplanetary suite)

Its 40ms faster on booste at grade A so not much faster.. might just touch 500ms with G5DD. Same pitch so you arnt going to be out manuvering much in the way of dedicated combat ships. Good job you have a fighter bay ay? Not that i use one..

I can see this being a competitive ship to the python on some levels but its definitely a multiroll not a pure combat ship.. you wont be squashin any FDLs in it with out some luck/skill

Piracy,smuggling,missioning,pve combat mabe some exploration...

Not a top tier pvp ship or a trader and there are better exploreation ships out there (but some times thats not what its all about)

Not a bad ship but not exactly ''krait'' eather

I squash FDLs in my Python without breakign a sweat... I think i will be able to do that with a SLF on my side just as fine...
I think a lot of FDL pilots will switch to this...

Fdls in pvp..?. no one cares about pve.. you can kill any thing in an eagle..

The python will be better for pvp.. it has more shields more armor and more internals.. just no slf witch isnt the be all end all.

I was talking PvP of course!

Python head to head with the krait - better shields/armor vs more firepower due to the SLF will be fun to do some dueling! If you have an FDL also happy to do som eduleling vs my Python ;)

I have an fdl but i never fly it... too mainstream lol

I usualy fly a viper or eagle. Some times an aspx cus im so contrary lol

I will be flying a krait just cus its the krait, pluss it looks like the escape pod from aliens. But i will be under no ilusions about what im flying in a CG lol

I think the challenger will be a much more interesting ship in the pvp playingfield

So this is Krait... What I'm gonna do is prep a Conda, equip it with ALL kinds of exploring tools and take off for a looong time. Unless 3.1 brings a real sense of danger to humankind.

Wont be as good at combat as a FDL

Slightly faster and maybe a tad more powerful than a Python but pretty much even

Less versatile than a Python and may less manueverable.

Think it's done a good job of providing an option to a Python but I think the Python is still the better ship overall just about

This is perfect for me. My style uses SLF to attack and distract and then I smash with high damage weapons. The Krait is going to be awesome for me!

Looks like it'll be perfectly fine for a number of things, good fun for smuggling, and entertaining for some combat with your SLF buddy.

A bit better than I was expecting.

The python will be better for pvp..

Python is too dependent on ENG pips and had poor vertical/lateral movement capabilities for me to consider it much of a PvP vessel. It gets crushed by the bigger vessels and can't keep up with the smaller/faster ones.

Still need to see how the Krait fares in this regard.

Wont be as good at combat as a FDL

Remains to be seen as there are still quite a few unknowns.

I don't think so. It has a lot less internal space than the Python so you won't have much cargo space for minerals and such.

Doesnt stop the NPCs from mining in Gunships of all things.

Not saying its a good idea, just pointing out how silly I think it is.

A lot of people underestimate the Python in PvP. It’s not the absolute best but if you’re just in open, it’s more than a viable option. That said, I can’t wait to get a Krait!
